The victory of minnows Ireland over mighty England may go down in history books as one of the greatest upset in cricket history and hero of that victory as K.G.O'Brien but there is another cricketer whose performance is not talked about but as important as that of O'Brien and that is J.F.Mooney. This man has taken 4 key English wickets and is instrumental in restricting English total to 327 which could well have crossed 350 if he had not taken those key wickets at crucial time. Again he has scored 33 runs of just 30 balls and took the control of Netherland innings when O'Brien got out. To me his performance is as important as that of O'Brien in securing that upset win. What do you feel?

Yeah I do agree there were two more Irish heroes other than the mighty Kevin O'Brien. One ofcourse was Mooney, with his crucial breakthroughs when the English Batsmen wwere all set for a 350+ score and again with his valient 33,a bit nervy in the beginning but a treat and joyous to watch towards the end.The other unsung hero was Brien's Partner in that mamooth partnership Cusaack.Thogh he scored some 40 odd runs but the way he kept his calm and helped Brien do the rampage at the other end by rotating the strike.Hats off Irish...keep going.

In my view, role of J.F.Mooney is as important as K.G.O'Brien.

I think there were important contributions from both Mooney and Cusack. Not only did Cusack score important runs, he also sacrificed his wicket for O Brien showing good team spirit. Mooney on the other hand was really calm under pressure conjuring up important boundaries in the chase. His 4 wickets were also very crucial in not letting England get away at the end. Cheers! Ram
