no respite for bowlers...!!!!

Dear friends, I have been watching the world cup and so far most of the scores notched up have been around the 300 run mark and more. Moreover, we have had some record chases that ended up in a draw and recently a victory. Personally, I am getting too bored. The pitches are getting extremely placid. No wonder every one wants to become batsmen, especially in the subcontinent. How will bowlers get motivated when they get blasted all over the ground. I wish pitches are produced where there is some help available for bowlers. Right now matches are getting too one sided. One can call it a contest only when a bowler gets some help of the pitch, a batsmen uses his talent to negotiate the ball. Right now the trend is win the toss, elect to bat, put up a massive total, put pressure on the team batting second. The funny thing is, these big totals seem achievable if the team has a decent batting line up. And plus all these new rules about 20 overs of power play and the no ball and free hit, the bowlers have no respite. For the future to cricket and also to make contests more interesting, I hope some one sees the downside of this recent trend and do something about it.... Share your views... Balu.
