Thoughts could be stronger than words. Why is it said that silence is golden?

“Silence is golden - that's why there is so little of it”

Rest is all hidden in those thoughts. If the thoughts were good they would have been expressed.

Sometimes it is best to allow people to learn instead of drilling them in what our opinion is. So not saying anything at times is good because when they learn they have time to think and re-consider for next time.

Thoughts when not expressed in a way is according to me being unfair. As what one thinks needs to be expressed and it is only then that one would try and not have bad thoughts.

Because silence is required to listen to others. If one is always talking, then they can't listen, and if one can't listen, then they really have nothing to say anyway.

I would hazard to say that silence is golden because people enjoy quiet. Its when its quiet that you have time and space to think. It's in silence that we remember those we loved and lost and offer up humble prayers full of love and gratitude. Silence is golden to me for all of these reasons.
