Google and Content Farms

So I am quite worried about this change to Google. I don't make the bulk of my money from hits, but from upfront payments at sites like Demand Studios and Helium. I'm worried that these sites will make far less money now, and in turn offer lower payments. I need to get off my butt and find some real writing jobs, which is more work. I know I could write for a real magazine, but it's quite a job researching and sending queries -- until you make a name for yourself there's more administrative work than actual writing. Are you worried about less traffic to your articles? How do you intend to make up your earnings?

I used to write for eHow before Demand made all these big changes and the site went from a nice place to write and read where users came up with their own article ideas and quality was valued over quantity. Now, they have this big content farm mentality where they just churn out low-quality articles as fast as possible. It sucks the traffic away from better articles and is just a really cheap and dirty way to make money. I hate it.
