An open records request reveals an email that shows collusion between the major of Madison, WI and the State Senate Democrats. Mayor David Cieslewicz asked the State Senate Democrats to do what they can to postpone the vote on the budget repair bill so they could rush through contracts with the unions. This also disproves the much hyped willingness by the unions and members to accept pension and medical benefits concessions. The stall tactic was meant to increase the pay and benefits for union members, not accept concessions. It also shows that the Senate Democrat excuse that they left Wisconsin to get time for floor discussion on the bill... which was already in the plan anyway. So much for the bravery of the senate democrats just doing this for their constituents. They don't give a crap about their constituents, they care only about the gravy train between them and the unions. Read the emails at the link. http://media.trb.com/media/acrobat/2011-03/59813442.pdf

Good a.m. ParaTed! I wouldn't call this "collusion" ... I would consider it doing harmoniously whatever it takes to stop the horrific republican over-reaching attack on working people!

It would be, if it wasn't illegal. The major first approached the secretary of state, but he wanted nothing to do with it. It is evidence that the mayor of Madison, the Senate Democrats and the unions are in collusion against the taxpayers of Wisconsin. It is also proof that the unions are NOT willing to accept the pension and medical benefit concessions, as claimed. Think of it this way. Would you be calling it "harmonious" if it was the government and unions colluding against the workers? It would be the same thing. The thing is, the elected officials aren't supposed to be representing the unions in contract negotiations. They are supposed to be representing ALL the people of their district. How are the senators of districts outside of Madison representing their constituents if they are scheming with the mayor of Madison? They should have no interest in helping him at all.. especially not when it's at the EXPENSE of their constituents. It also proves the LIE the Fugitive 14 have used to explain why they're running away isn't cowardice. They say the just wanted to make sure the legislature was allowed time for open discussion and debate on this bill. But in reality, it was just bowing to the request of the mayor of Madison. When the "management" and "labor" side are both looking out for the unions, who is looking out for the taxpayers? and how can that be called "good faith negotiations"?

When I lived in WS think my hubby got $18.25 an hour for electrician and had a pretty good package of ins. and annuities but back then too most states paid about the same for them.
