It is very strange that group A is full with minnows example Kenya , Canada and Zimbabwe while Group B have goods teams like Ireland , Bangladesh and neither along with Big 4 India South africa , England and west Indies.....that make group A very boring indeed while group B is just group of death..........After two world cup failure , hw can ICC make such a stupid decision.....

Even though bangladesh and ireland are slightly better than other minnows, 9/10 times they will lose against a decent team.I feel like India should be happy to be in group B because south africa is the only team in this group which has the strength to defeat india. England is not as good a team as it used to be in the past.West indies is a good team but their position in the ranking is just above bangladesh!!This is not the WI of 1980s! Ireland may have defeated england but they are still minnows and same is the case with netherlands.
By the way i cant believe that you said ireland and bangladesh are good teams!!Come on ,there are only 8 good teams in cricket.

Hi faceless_girl,
This is all about money. Just reflect why all the strong teams have had a match with minnow in the opening of their campaign. The match fixture is framed in such a away so that most of them earned more revenues.
People are losing interest in cricket gradually.

I don't think there is much of a difference between 4 elite teams in each group. You can well compare India, England, South Africa and West Indies with Australia, Sri Lanka. Pakistan and New Zealand. There is not much of a difference between the two groups. The additional test playing country, Bangladesh in group B can be well compared with Zimbabwe which is stripped of its test status. As about others teams are concerned, their performance depends on the form of their key players. This year it is Ireland in'03 W.C. it was Kenya, who reached second round beating some top teams. Overall I feel the two groups are balanced. After all it is four teams and not two which will go to second round from each group. There is no worry for any of the elite teams to reach the second round unless Ireland continues its giant killing spree.
