I grew up loving almost all kinds of music type. At the age of 9, i started to learn how to play the guitar and keyboard. Every night i always practice playing the guitar in my room. During elementary days, I've also participated in school dance activities or contests. But if I were to choose to concentrate in one field, I wanted to be a great singer or musician. I love dancing but it's just to streneous and tiring. I know there are a lot of talented individuals out there who can perform both without any problem. But let's say given a very hectic schedule which one would you choose?

I have always love singing, though I don't have a diva singing voice. This is because when I sing I can express my emotions. And if I were to choose between singing and dancing, I would really choose to have a singing ability because, even when you grow old you would still have that talent unlike being a dancer, where in you'll just have it as long as your bones and joins are still able.. lol. This was actually the same answer I gave my sister when she asked me this question.

I'm a musician...playing bass, drums, guitar and keyboard. Have been a musician for more than 30 years. My favorite is the bass. I'm also a songwriter, so it has to be music...without music, can there be dancing? I suppose I would choose a singer, it would still put me in music.

I personally would choose to be a singer. The reason that I would choose to be a singer is because I am able to hear notes better than a lot of people are able to. However, when it comes to movement, sometimes it really is a miracle that I don't trip over my own two feet. Therefore, I know that there would be no way that I would be able to be trained as a dancer. I would be one of those boring artists that doesn't even move on the stage.

As they said, music is the language of our souls and there are people who are just amazing in hearing notes.

I'd have to choose singing. I play piano and sing. I write my own songs and hope to sell CDs at some point. I currently have enough songs to make an album (about 11), but I have got to get to recording. I'm waiting for my good friend to come back before I start because he promised to help me. I love dancing too, but I don't really have any training in that area. Not that I have much training in music. I took piano lessons for about 2 years mostly in classical. I'd love to take piano or voice lessons, but just don't have the time or the money for that right now. I'm a busy college student with finals coming up!

wow that's great. Me i always wanted to be a musician, not a singer but a great guitarist. Everyday I listen to all my favorite bands and then i always imagined myself as a great guitarist. Sad to say as of this moment i never did learn how to play a guitar, maybe because I'm too busy, or its just that I'm old that I'm too shy to ask my friends to teach me on how to play the guitar. I've tried learning from youtube but its very hard.

Nah, not to late to learn how to play it. Try to check out some song book with guitar chord chart and do self study. It worked for me.

i would choose to be a a singer. cause you can perform some dance step while singing or can either perform piano or guitar while singing, in that case you can maximize your talent and time at the same time. goodluck on your career. i've got a poor talent in singing and dancing. i can sing but not a perfect singer and i can dance but a few steps only. and one thing i'm shy to perform in front of a crowd....

Thanks. I don't have a career in both areas but I just love singing more than dancing, especially now that I don't have much time to practice dancing. I can sing anywhere. =)

hi, i love dancing a lot, i gave many stage performances, and got many rewards, and a bit fans for my dance, i am a bad singer so if i have to choose a career in this i would definitely choose dance in my career and would be a choreographer...but i don't think now i have a chance.

I would have chosen dance rather than singing. Though its tiring and strenuous it gives me relief from every kind of tension for the time being. I love dancing when i'm alone in my room. I didn't get chance to express myself as a good dancer from the beginging and the result is that m stillnot a good dancer and m away from dance too. but whenever i get chance i love to dance alone or even with my kid.

It's not yet too late to learn dancing. If you really wanted to learn how to be a good dancer, you can always enroll in dancing classes. I should say that you are right when you said that dancing can be tiring, but I found it lessening my stress when I dance even if I'm so tired.

As much as I love music, I think I would have to pick dance if I have to choose one over the other. The posters above me do make some good points about needing space to be able to dance but I feel I can express myself better through movement rather than singing. Not that one can't express themselves through song but for me movement and dance just comes a lot more naturally and is probably my first love, with music and singing being a very close second.

hello dheckerz! i both know how to dance and sing quite well, however should i be made to choose between the two, i would choose to sing because even if i can't dance, at least i could make other people dance through the songs i sing. And i can sing without being embarrass being heard by other people. Dancing could be such a way that people would mistake you for being crazy if you jsut suddenly stop in your tracks and dance your heart out.

I always loved music, ever since i was a kid. I had many chances of learning the piano, guitar, drums back in school but i never took the chance and it kills me now. But it's not too late though. I'm learning guitar by myself these days, it's a pretty tough challenge. I love dancing too but if i had to choose one among them, I would definitely choose to be a singer. I would love to be a singer and own a song of my own. That would be so great.

:) When I sing... I can to scare anyone, I can singing only in cat choir :D lol But when I am dancing... It already has a passion, this is my trump card, I feel the song when I hear it. I can dancing the song, not singing. So I am a better dancer - I was dancing since 3 years old, I danced, folk dance, modern dance and had a cheerleader. Only Do not make me singing. :D lol

Impressive. Keep on dancing, it's good for your figure.

If I had to only choose one and not both, I would DEFINITELY prefer to be a singer. Dancing are just movements that may or may not intrigue the eyes. As for musics or songs, it is something that does not only ingratiates the ear, but also touches the heart. It is something that you can close your eyes and just listen to the beauty of it. On the other hand, for dancing, you need space. As for singing, you can do it anywhere with only your voice and no other requirements.

I would definitely choose dancer. While i love singing and music in general, dancing to me is something that can only be done by individuals that practice and practice, bringing their bodies to the pinnacle of hard work and health. Dancing to me is art with the body. Though to be honest i am not one for the written art, but dancing just catches my eyes, makes me SEE the beauty that we as humans can have.

I'd rather be a singer than a dancer. It is easier to dance than to sing. I can carry a tune but I think it would be nice if I really can sing well. I mean you wouldn't need to have music to sing, while it would be silly for a person to dance without a music. Just my thoughts!

I have two left feet when I dance. So no matter how hard I try, no dancing isnt for me, lol! Used to dance when I was a kid though, but not really into it. I came from a family that loves music. All of us knows how to sing and play instruments. I am more into vocals and guitar.

Heh, you just remind me myself! I began with playing the piano may be at age of 5 :)At my teenage I began to play the guitar. After that I make a few bands and play a lot with them. Many people loved our musik when we've played at live but.... I unfortunatly live in Bulgaria where you cannot live just by playing musik :(
