What does "Alert" here in myLot mean?

I have received an alert yesterday and I don't know why this is. There was a button that "You have received an alert", I clicked on it but I was given no explanation. I checked the FAQ as well, but got no response.
Does anybody know what this means? Should I be worried about it? Or it is only a system error?

Hi rappeter13,
I am very new with participation in myLot and I did not log in for a couple days, so when I did this morning and saw that I was wondering also. Now I read your helpful discussion as to what it is all about. So now I understand it to be like a notification of information from admin so I guess sometimes we are suppose to get new information each time they want to notify of something new or changes. So I thank you for this discussion because I was not aware before your discussion.

Hi rappeter,
As far as I know mylot alert is a sort of notice on some new activities that if you wish you could participate and earn more money. These mylot alerts are genuine. What you can nod is written there and what to do and what not is described there in the alert text.

Above the list of messages "View Alerts"
They expire after a certsin time.

We are in the same boat.Yesterday I received the alert too.I was in a fog and was impatient of reading it through.
