Chess has been fun for me for a long while now. Mainly because I don't suck at it, and I usually win or at least put up a good fight against anyone I play. Granted if I came up against a professional I know I'd be destroyed lol.

Hi ApocalypseDLM7 and welcome to my lot. It is a fun game to me too. It is just plain hard to find anyone to play with. My ex taught me how to play and he would get mad at me because I would beat him at it. Thank God my new husband loves to play and it don't matter if he wins or not. I wouldn't be able to stand against a professional either but I am pretty good at it.

Your welcome. I love to play but it is a game that takes a lot of time sometimes and we just don't have the time too much. Just when it is so bad outside we don't want to work out in it. Then we will play for hours. I don't like playing online for the same reason it just isn't the same as playing someone in person. We have several sets one is glass just a cheap one, we have one with jade peaces but my ex lost one of the pons to that one. Then we have one that is really cheap it is plastic we play with it a lot more then the other sets.

Hey thx. I'm having fun already and havent been here long at all :D. Oh well that's nice you have at least one person to play with. My parents are pretty much chess illiterate and finding someone to play with randomly or amongst friends is pretty difficult as you say. I have a glass set that just sits in the corner and collects dust :(. I still find the random game to play every now and then and of course you can play online but it's not the same feel as knocking over the opponents peace with your own hands :D lol.

I can play chess but I'd rather watch people figure out how the bishops could escape horses that jump in an L shape. I laugh when they do the castling. The king is a coward, I think, and he loves to hide behind the rook. Okay, just watch that queen! Her knights are well and good protecting her.

Hi Eileenleyva. I love playing chess it is a game where you have to really think about each and every move you make. That is how we all should do in our daily lives we all should think about every thing we do each and everyday. Thanks for the response.

Same here! Actually I have collections of books about chess. I'm just overwhelm how simple people become genius by mastering chess like Magnus Carlsen. He was called "genius" at his young age. Same story as Bobby Fisher who dropped out from high school and focus his entire life in his chess career. Fisher said that his school served as hindrance to his mastery of chess. What a guy! Well I'm not that active in chess any more, and my internet rating is around 1700-1800. But I'm still hopefull that even I will not reach GM title, atleast haivng 2000 ratings would be an achievement for me.

I used to play chess when I was younger. I even joined school competition when I was in elementary. Yes, it takes a lot of thinking what moves to take. I only lose interest when I reach high school that there were lots of school activities that I encountered that I don't have time anymore to play chess.

How good it is when we all take time to just relaxe we seldom do that any more. Seems like we all are in a hurry to do this or that but it takes time to enjoy life. And playing chess is a game that you must enjoy the time or it is like time will never move on to the next minute. I love playing chess and it is a good game to stop and think about everything in our lives. Never loose time to play chess it is a great game.

I love playing chess. I never think about it seems like when I am playing I know how the game will go as we move. I never thought about asking anyone but my now husband. We started off playing chess that is what made me be attracted to him in the first place. He loves to play and it is a cool thing to us to sit around and play chess. Gives us both time to think and to concentrate. It has made our relationship even better because we both do enjoy so many of the same things. We have nice long chats while we play. Just another plus Thank God for this man.

Hi Asliah. I had wanted to learn all my life but I didn't know anyone that could teach me. I love it because you do have to use your head on every move you make. One wrong move can cost you a piece. I am so thankful that my ex did teach me how to play. I am especially thankful that my husband now don't get mad if I beat him at the game. It is a game to enjoy. Hope you have a nice day.

Hi Liliac and welcome to my lot. I don't know if you can learn online but they do make computer chess games. I brought one because I couldn't play chess with my ex without him getting upset because he taught me how to play. And I would beat him how childish....LOL

I love chess, i have been playing it for many many years, though i have not gone professional simply because i can be a bit lazy and sometimes i just don't have the free time i would like to be able to put forth into this game of strategy and attack. Chess to me is both relaxing and fun, even in loss you can learn how to better yourself and perhaps win next time. Chess is a lovely game that anyone of all ages can enjoy and love if they are willing to learn and attempt.

Hi Kazehiko and welcome to my lot. It is a great game. I learned how from my ex but he wasn't fun to play with. He would throw fits if he didn't win since he taught me he thought that he should be better then me at it. But seems like he didn't really play as well as he thought.....LOL I had always wanted to learn to play chess. Now my new husband and I love playing we don't care who wins or loses the game it is a great game. Thanks for sharing.

I used to play chess until highschool. I even join sports events. It's not that I don't love the sport anymore as to why I stopped playing but it's because I have no one to play the game with.
