Are you an animal lover?

I think I am too obsessed with dogs. I have 3 indoor adult dogs and with 4 new puppies added to the three makes a colony of doggies under my roof. My hands are full caring for these sweet hairy pets that are great stress busters for me. Each of these dogs has their own individual characteristics and can be very amusing at times. They are miniature dogs, a mix of terriers and poodle. They are quite intelligent dogs. If only they have the gift of speech, I think they have much words to say. My dogs only way of communicating with me is their barks and scratching to get my attention. When it is time for their routine walks, they will clamor for my attention and I have to drop everything what I am doing to attend to them. Dogs are my only consolation now to fill the void left by the children who have left the nest in pursuit of their careers in other parts of the country. I think having a good bonding with dogs can really create happiness in our life. What do you think?

I'm also obsessed and a big fan of dogs. I love collecting stuffs which is related to dogs. I want to have a lot of dogs if we already moves to a new place with larger play area. For me, my dogs are God's gift. They made me happy that's why I love them and always take care of them.

I believe that too dogs can be our very best friend in life. I may not be able to bring all my dogs to my new house as the council only allow two dogs in a housing estate and any additional would not be given licence.

I currently have 1 dog. She is a great companion to all in the household. I can't imagine life without pets. They add joy and love to a home. When I was in the 4th grade we had a Pekingese that had a litter of Peke-a-poos. 7 of them. That is a lot of puppies for a dog that size. They all lived and I was allowed to keep one of the puppies and we found homes for the rest. It was one of the most amazing experiences in my life. I still miss that pup and she passed 25 years ago. Dogs truly make an impact on you and your life.

Tiger - one of my new puppies
When any of dogs have puppies I become possessive and would not give them away unless I know the person is a dog lover and would take good care of the puppy.

My mom was exactly like that and I am the same way. Everyone gets a thorough screening before a puppy would be entrusted to them.

I am also an animal lover. I also have a dog and he is family to us. He sleeps on the same bed and he always follow us around. I am beginning to even think he owns the house. LOL. He is our best friend and me and my wife can feel his unconditional love for us. WE also had a cat before. I hate to see in television news reports about dogs being killed or maltreated, horses used as "gladiators", etc.

You sleep with your dog? I don't. I have one room for them in my house but usually they like to sleep in a more airy place like the corridor.

I adore my animals and they do indeed make my very happy... my tribe at the moment is: 4 dogs (american bulldog, mini poodle, pomeranion x and a chihuahua) one old cat, 2 parrots, a tortoise, a chameleon, 4 chickens, a bunny and lots of fish. I do have 2 children so it's not to fill a void as such but I just adore them and as much as I never stop running around after them all I love it, they give me so much joy I wouldn't change them for anything :O)

My husband and I are not dog people, but we love cats. For now we only have one, because we live in a tiny little place, but if we could have more cats we would.

hi zandi I too love dogs and cats. I cannot afford to ha v e a pet here as it will raise my rent. Did you know that some company has people who come to hospitals with really sweet cute small dogs just to cheer up patients? I was amazed when this kindly man came into my room with these really cute lasa aphso dogs. He let me and my roommates pet his furry pals. they were so adorable and so friendly too. I thought thats a really great idea. I was only in there for a week but time just crawls when you are ill. this was years back but I never forgot it. I can only imagine what it would be like for elderly folks in nursing homes to be able to hug and pet a dog. what a delightful c hange that would be.When I had my dog she always knew when I was happy or upset, or ill. she would come and sit beside me, and cuddle against me. I swore her eyes told me its okay so don't worry you will be fine. Yes I do love dogs and cats too.

I think you don't need any more dogs. If you don't watch out you will be over run with them and then none of them will get the proper care. It's so easy for the number of animals to get away from you. Please see if you can find another interest. Maybe it could have something to do with dogs, where you meet other people who also care.

Yes, dogs make some people happy. I too love animals. Just about 10 years ago I used to have tens dogs. They lived inside and outside my place. I ate and played with them. They sometimes pulled my hair when we were playing--kinda good when I got headache. Having that many dogs really taught me something about personality. They were just like humans with various characters. They would fight for my attention. They would fight over food even though each one of them had its own food. They were so funny, acting funnily. They did show their affections to me and make me never tired just by looking at them, like kids. The look on their faces when looking at me was just so adorable. But unfortunately not many people like dogs in my country. They see dogs as filthy. Can't they see that dogs can protect us as well as make us happy and full of love? Now I have none of them as I live in a new place with my in laws who were not keen on dogs.

Ten dogs are far too many but if you can give each and everyone of them your personal attention, then it is no problem to have that many. Yes, some religious beliefs are not allowed to keep dogs. They don't realize what they are missing in life.

Hi zandi458 I definately consider myself an animal lover. I've grown up with animals around me, I currently live with animals around me and I'd like to do so in the future. In our household we also have 3 dogs and one of them can give birth to cute little puppies any day now, I'm so excited for that! I totally agree that dogs can bring happiness to our lives, but ofcourse you first need to know how to handle and treat them before you get one in my oppinion. Have a nice day.

Like you I have plenty of dogs at the moment, haha. I have 3 dogs inside, two of which I'm keeping for my oldest daughter. Her baby has an allergy to them that we hope he grows out of. And the other inside dog is my pup which is 4 months old. I had her mom too, but a friend of mine wanted her for hunting. She is doing great out in the country. She had 8 pups, still have 4 pups outside, all of them are up for adoption. Hopefully, they will have new homes soon. I have always had a dog, ever since I was little. And I have had many breeds from dachshund to doberman. I love the companionship I get, and like you said, they all have their own personalities.

We have the same interest. Dogs are just beautiful animal that I can't possible live without. The funny thing is when I shuttle between my two homes, they occupy most of the back seat and one will always be on my lap. Other road users are shocked to see my car full of dogs. They love the long ride. It is a two hours ride from one home to the other.

I am an animal lover. We always had some kind of pet as a child. i have had fish, cats, dogs and birds to love. I seem to have more of an attachment to the feline population than any other animal though. they are all precious in their own ways!

That's a tough question to answer for me. I like animals, but I'm not really into them, that's why I've never had a pet in my life. I am more of a plant person. I love gardening and I can say that I am an avid gardener. Having a pet requires a lot of work (I think) while plants do not need much maintanance. I only have to fertilize, and prune them if need. Plus I don't have to deal with litter, as I have to when it comes to pet.
