The leftists want to reign in individual liberty by redistributing wealth in a collectivist plan. The righties want to reign in individual liberties by mandating their own moral code (i.e. DOMA). Either way, liberty suffers. I produced a program on BTR this week titled "Two Cheeks of The Same *ss" that addressed the issue. Here is the link to listen www.blogtalkradio.com/libertytalk/2011/03/03/liberty-talk. The program notes are at www.liberty-talk.com. Tell me what you think.

Ask women about the right to choose. Ask LGBTs about marriage equality, about anti-discrimination law. Ask Union workers about the right to collectively bargain. Ask anyone that a health insurance company dropped or refused to insure in the first place. Ask the people who bombed the World Trade Center in 1991 (I hear they like getting visitors) and in 2001 (If you can find bin Ladin). Ask anyone who remembers which President it was that presided over the DOW going from 2,000 to 11,000. Oh, Yeah: the two political parties in the U.S. really are that different.

I myself have come to the conclusion that these two parties have less differences than they have in common. They also both like to expand the powers of the Executive Branch and increase the spending of government in certain areas that help their platform. They couldn't careless about the founding of the country they are both in it for the power and nothing else. That is it they want theirs and nothing else hence why when I vote in 2012 I will be voting based on the persons record and well Ron Paul is already getting my vote.

I think politics has overwhelmed good public policy in America.

Hello mattic I've always thought it was weird that America is portrayed as a big and great democracy, don't get me wrong I love America, but it seems you only have 2 choices when you vote Republicans or Democrats and they really aren't as different as the media wants people to believe. I come from Denmark and we have multiple political parties you can vote for, so it's highly likely that you can find a party that shares your values and/or believes. I think it could be very good for America to have a bunch of different parties because I refuse to believe that all Americans are 100% pro Republican or Democrat. Just my thoughts, take care :)
