Any ideas for writing a novel? Used to write stories as a kid and kind of wt to get back into it. Problem is I lack a credible idea to be the catalyst for my novel writing. Can anybody help? Any suggestion welcome from the beautiful to the absurd.

I think that to be original, the idea has to come from you. About trying to set those non-credible ideas you have in a futuristic setting? Less pressure for realisticness there.

I like that reaoning about less pressure for realisticness. Yes I think I might at some point attempt to write a futuristic utopia type novel. Thanks a lot Rostow

I also write some novels when I'm bored. Its hobby before especially when summer comes. Well, based on my experience I just write about love stories.. Have you tried writing about love story? If not, try one. Cheers!

I think it depends on your target reader. As a reader, I like adventure novels with original ideas and fun characters. You can actually base your characters on real-life personalities that you know. You can try an adventure novel about war and politics. You can also write about a brand new world outside the earth. I like sci-fi.
