As expected the Team India won at kotla against Nether Land! But the way it won the match was not at all a convincing one! Today also while playing against the weakest team in the pool India had to play as if they are playing against a seasoned team!
We had OK bowling this time, but the the batting was absolutely reckless one! Just think players like Sachin, Sehwag, Gambhir and Pathan got out in a silly way! If the partnership of Dhoni and Yuvraj was not a success, then it would have been a tough for India to make it!
What is going on, it is not really understood! India is not showing any spark of a Champion team.So far barring England India played against all easy teams and to get victory they had to toil every time!
Now, I feel though the Indian team is winning the matches, with every match it seems it is going away from the World Cup! What Do you feel?
Please Respond! Thanks !

I actually think it was a good victory. They chased down the run with more than 13 overs to spare. They were going after the run rate and hence batsmen got out while playing shots. When they lost a few wickets, Dhoni and Yuvraj buckled down and took India past the mark. So I think it was a good victory overall for India. The only thing that I am disappointed about is the fact that Ashwin is still not playing for India which is really puzzling.
Cheers!

Hi Dear Ram! Do you think that we really had need to sacrifice so many wickets to achieve the target against such a weak team! Is this the thing we expect from Indian team, when all of us are looking at it as a Favorite one in this World Cup Tournament?!
Thanks for responding!

Just look at the way yesterday SriLanka won against Zimbabwe! They were giving the message every time to Zimbabwe and the spectators that they are far better team than Zimbabwe though they have lost some quick wickets in last 5 overs in desperate move! Some thing like that was expected fro India the other day!
Any ways now since two crucial matches are there which actually tell us where we stand exactly...While expecting for the best let us wish best of luck to the Indian Team! Thanks !

I think this is a world cup of equals. No team is really strong enough to be a firm favorite. So given that backdrop I think it was actually a smart match played by India. If before the match anyone told me that India would win the match with 13 overs to spare, I would have grabbed it anyway!!
Cheers!

Yesterday's India's win was little discomforting considering that they lost 4 wickets under 100 runs against the minnows like Netherlands. Though it could be said in their favor that they wanted to build up the net run rate. They therefore went for fast scoring although they achieved it to certain extent lost too many wickets in the process. The positive from the match is form of Yuvraj Singh with both bat and ball. When he is in full cry he can demolish any balling line up. I hope he keeps up the form for the match against South Africa this Saturday which is going to be crucial one.

Hellow Dear Msdivkar! yes I agree with you that possibly in the attempt of getting the desired net run rate our players wanted to have some quick runs! That is OK, and such strategies are to be made always when such a big tournament is being played! But the implementation of the strategy was too disappointing! I feel there was no need of sacrificing the important wickets one after another! Just imagine how the thing would have been, if the partnership of Dhoni and Yuvraj didn't work out!
Yesterday it was expected from Indian players to bat like what the Sri Lankan openers today against Zimbabwe! The openers player till 45 overs! That speaks about the talent and the proficiency of the players to be recon them as true champions! I agree Zimbabwe is not a strong team like Srilanka, but yesterday the Nether land was not also a very good team!
Yes, I think Yuvraj is playing sensible cricket and he seems to be getting back to his form and hopefully his form should help Indian team to bag the World Cup effectively! Yes before that we do have a couple of more matches to prove our mettle, though the result may not have any impact on our playing in the semi finals!
Thanks for responding!

Nice topic AKRao24
Actually Indians over attacked to be honest .This was not the pitch where you can slog and get runs and in the evening it became further slower and lower. The ball was stopping at the batsman after pitching.Dutch team as bowling wicket to wicket and so the shots by Indian batsman were not according to the pitch. It happens that when you are playing against minnows and target is small you tend to relax and play false shots and that's what happened .Team India was relaxed overall as they gave extra 50 runs to dutch and lost 4 wickets too many. But anyways victory big or small is always sweet.Having said that ,i am not expecting much from India till Chawla keeps playing , its very similar like Ravindra Jadeja was playing continuously for India and they were losing the matches.Spin attack is strength of India and Chawla is very poor, so the balance has shifted from aggressive to defensive as far as bowling is concerned.Include one good bowler in the line up ,like Ashwin or Nehra and balance will be much better.Looking at the conditions Ashwin should play but as we all know Dhoni will keep playing Chawla in coming matches too so i am not very optimistic about India's chances in coming matches against SA and WI.Dhoni has not learned from his mistakes in the past when he kept playing Jadeja and India had to face two humiliating exits in last two t20 world cups.I fully agree with you that spark of a champion team is missing.

Hi Dear Grvdubey! Thanks for commenting on the topic! yes it is the time we should analyse ourselves with the retrospective actions!
Yes, I too feel that yesterday Indian Team was too relaxed and over confident in their approach as a result they have awarded 50 runs to the opponent team, together with lot of moral strength which they have gathered by hitting the shot over the boundary! Same way the reckless shots without paying any attention to the conditions of the pitch has resulted in falling of so many precious wickets!
Indians possibly have forgotten that they are the few of the best professionals in the Cricket presently in the International Cricket Circle! They were playing with semi professional players of opponent team! They should have been very careful to avoid any silly mistake to have occurred to save the disgrace which any seasoned player would face, if any occured!
But instead of that Indian team has sacrificed precious wickets and gifted precious runs and some how managed to win the match as the partnership between Dhoni and Yuvraj worked out successfully for them! Other wise there could have been one more upset yesterday!
Now regarding the team selection there are many grey areas which need some clarification, as the experts are also unable to make out why the captain is making such a strategy which is not working for the Team! Yes this is not a place to undertake any experimentation at this time as all the teams are watching the Indian team, which is supposed to be a favorite one, very carefully as the opponent team!
Yes if there is no change in the team, there are every chances that we may have some unexpected result in the rest of the two matches to be played against South Africa and West indies before playing the semi finals!
Thanks for responding!

Yes! That is true dear Islooboy! But then looking at the performance of the team, it was never felt in matches played so far that India is playing like a favorite team! Ups and downs are part and parcel of the game, but reckless way of playing is something very different and that is what the India Team is doing right now unfortunately! Thanks !

Very disappointing victory for indian team.I was expecting that India will achieve this target without loosing any wicket.Nedarland team has only 3-4 professional cricketers and all other players in the team are from different profession. On the other side all Indian players are not only full time professional but having years of international cricket experiance. Thanks to god that game doesn't end in any major upset for India as two upcoming games are against major teams.ALL THE BEST TO INDIAN TEAM.

Hi Dear Sameer! Yes you are absolutely right! We have all the players in our Indian team who are professionals and most of them carry some of other tag of creating record! Every one in the World knows about the Records set by Little Master Sachin Tendulkar, Dhoni, Sehwag, Yuvraj, Harbhajan etc. in various categories. When such a strong and great team with committed professionals are playing against the team where the members are actually more of quasi professionals in nature, it is but natural to expect such a feat of achieving the target without loosing any wicket!
Yes, one time it looked as if we are going to have another big upset here, but as you said thanks God it didn't happen as the two actual and testing matches are still pending to be played by our team against two tough teams of the World before the semi finals!
All the best to India and Thanks for responding dear friend!
