Think before you use Twitter and Facebook

Networking Sites - Some popular networking sites

There are online and offline manuals telling you how to use Twitter and Facebook, but few tell you what not to post there. You can tell every detail of your life to your friends and family in person, but online, being so open can hurt you because it can read by anyone, according to Forbes and the Huffington Post. This is why many people in South Korea become hesitant to use their services, as they are used to the blog-style personal homepage at social networking site Cyworld. There'll be some risks, such as being bulgarized at home on vacation or getting fired posting insults about someone at work. It doesn't hurt to know how to prevent trouble that can come along with using Facebook and twitter. What not to post on Facebook and Twitter and why?

I believe we need to be cautious in posting in twitter and facebook. I just post what I'm feeling there but I hardly post where I am or what I'm doing. I don't post private things and specific locations. I don't post in facebook anymore and my account there is in privacy mode. 98% of my friends there are people that I personally know and I'm not fond of adding friends for the sake of having lots on my list.

Yeah people were so busy to notice that they're risking their lives by posting some private infos to social networks. I believe that we should be aware of it because anything can happen.

I believe you just have to know in the back of your brain, always, that anything and everything you post on Facebook will be public, no matter your privacy settings. (although, it's not true, as privacy settings can help prevent people that you aren't friends with seeing anything you post, but it could get leaked somehow) Facebook is a public place. If you don't want people seeing certain things, just simply don't post them! Don't be stupid. xD

Although socialize sites can help us in many different ways but it also put us a risk if we are not careful in using it. I am avid user of the two mention sites above. Definitely I used it to connect my old friends and my family who happened they are far away from me for almost 1 year already. Before I didn't used both of that site but after I transferred to another country I started to used the sites. One thing you should know, never post you private personal information online. Who knows, some people will used it to fraud anybody and it will harm you without knowing that you arrested already. Alot of celebrities victimized by this kind of business. Be sure when you are using twitter and facebook, careful and don't be open to anybody unless you knew them in person.

There are alot of people that tend to post what ever they want thinking that it do not really matter. However there are people that take some things to heart and other people that gossip about all the things that are being put up on other peoples status.People can also get in serious trouble asd well for harrassing other people that are on face book.

me neither, I believe that it is not that bad to post in facebook nor twitter but be sure that it your words cause no harm to other people and it won't be a hindrance to your life. so go and enjoy fb and twitter but be responsible of what will you say. like what others say, it is better to shut up when you dont have anything good to say Ü

As with any social networking site, using the privacy settings and a little common sense go a long way. I always set my facebook to friends only, including all of the pictures I upload. I have also warned all of the guys in my fire department, be very cautious on what you post about any and all incidents we are involved in. There have been many people lose their job over a facebook posting, and I have seen some postings by others that are questionable. I use it mainly to keep in touch with family and friends that live elsewhere, in other states. I have never used twitter, nor will I. I really don't care to post what I am doing every minute of everyday, nor do I care to see what my friends are doing every minute.

Yeah that's really why I don't spend all that much time around Facebook. In fact, these days, I tend to be avoiding Facebook. It just seems to be a bit too personal for me. Therefore, it really makes me leery about who is viewing my personal information. I have been touchy now more than ever about giving out anything about my personal information. Even my real name these days, given out with great reluctance. Twitter is an entirely different animal I think. There is less personal information out there and it just seems less personal than Facebook. Then again, I have my own irritation about how useless Twitter may in fact be. So that is just something to really think about. Just use some common sense(a dirty word to some people), about not posting too much, then you should be mostly fine.

Hello myempress, I guess its better not to post some important and personal information in social networking sites.. Information like birthdays, address, phone numbers and many others. Its better to stay hidden than to risk your safety. We do not know how people think nowadays.. We do not know if they have good or bad intentions to us!
