sibling rivalry

What could be the possible solution if not the best way to solve rivalry between my father and his sisters?My father is the only boy in their family. He has 6 sisters and all of them were professionals and succesful in life except my father. He is the black sheep of the family. He did not finished his study because of many reasons. He has many vices like chronic alcoholism, smoking, gambling but despite of the short-coming as a son and brother he was still the favorite among them. He gets more attention from their parents. He was given more love. Why I know? His sisters told me so and they got jelous to my father ever since they were young. I got the idea it was the very reason of the rivalry in their family. How can this be resolve? Even this time they are not in good terms.

Your father was indeed special to your grandparents. His the only boy in the family. He received more love and attention for he will be the one choosen to continue what his parents worked hard for. It is natural for his sisters to be jealous but your father failed his family. He went to crooked path of life and that was the reason his sisters got even more disappointed.

If the problem is consistent it probably can never be resolved. Despite what they display they love each other. Maybe your father receive more love and attention from his parents because he is special not saying that his siblings aren't but he is the only boy which makes him special in that since. Maybe your aunts have tried so hard to get their parents approval by being successful but yet your dad has to put in no effort to receive the same treatment as the girls. Yes! its unfair but in a way it is fair. Growing up I'm sure your dad experienced alot of things with his sisters that made him feel left out because of the fact there were no other males. I don't think anyone can resolve the issue but you father and his sisters because this was a matter way before you were born and it may just continue. That might just be the solution that " Thats just the way things are no matter how hard everyone tries for them not to be"
