The real Benzema has finally turned up.

Since his move from Lyon last season, Benzema has struggled with life at the Bernabeu. At times he has looked like a ghost of his former self, a player so low in confidence that he'd struggle to hit a cow's bum with a bango. Now with to a run of games in the first team due to Higuains injury, he suddenly a different player. Banging goals in for fun. I hope this run of form continues and the Bernabeu faithful grow to idolise him. It's strange how confidence affects a footballer.

He certainly has looked like a shadow of his former self I do think the arrival of Adebayor may have affected Benzmema though as he's realised that Mourhino will go out and seek replacements for Higuains injury which I think has ultimately made him realise the need to perform or lose his chance at Real Madrid and even though Adebayor hasn't done as well as he did it first one or two matches . Competition can sometimes trigger a reaction in football and I do believe this has affected Benzema at least initially but once a player, a forward especially gains some confidence after previously suffering from a low goal tally then you can see an instant change in a player . It's always an example of things in football and as they say form is temporary, class is permanent. That's certainly true and Madrid our reaping the benefits of Kaarmim Benzema when they ultimately need it the most as it's coming towards the tail end of the season where points matter most and the best way to get points in is to have a forward on top of their game, I do hope he continues his good form though .

I thought Fergie might have took him to United , before he went to Madrid. I remember rumours about Fergie being really interested in him. But I suppossed once he bought Berba, it kind of ruled Benzema out.

He went for him all right the rumours weren't rumours at all he'd bid for him which was initially accepted then Real Madrid came in with a bigger offer if I remember rightly and he also told Fergie he'd prefer to go to the Spanish league which is what he ultimately did . I think Benzema was the main man Fergie was after as but think he was either going to sell Berbatov or just have Rooney Berbatov and Benzema to choose from as Fergie usually likes to have four main forwards who are all capable talents . I think there's been a lot of rumours recently though that he'd move on to United if he couldn't cut it at Real Madrid who knows might still happen unless Mourinho is happy with Benzemas attitude now which he wasn't before .

Yes, Benzema seems to be the Benzema from Lyon, who plays well and scores a lot. Confidence is very important in football, as generally in life. You cannot do much thing in life neither if you lack of confidence. I am not a fan of Real Madrid at all, but I have to say that Mourinho does a good job here as well and restores players very well, players who seemed to be in a crisis. I think Adebayor will be restored as well, because he was weak at City.

I still remain one of the doubters of Benzema. I would like to see him score more heavily against bigger teams. I would be interested in seeing him in Champions League action later this week to see if he is really shaping up. I agree with you that the current run of games does seem to have worked well for him, but I still feel it is too early to say that he has started fulfilling his destiny just yet. Cheers! Ram
