With Liverpools new strike force of Carrol and Suarez can Liverpool make it back to 4th spot.

I think getting the 4th position is out of their hands. Not only do they need to win all their matches, they need two of either Chelsea, Tottenham or Man City to slip big time for them to make the 4th place. I think that is going to be really very very difficult. I think they will do great to grab the 5th spot in the table this season. Cheers! Ram

Your certainly right observing the fact taht Liverpool need other clubs results to go their way and with the way each of those teams mentioned are playing I doubt all three of them will slip up t most two out of three will muck up but three is just unrealistic . I think they may struggle again next season unless the owners keep investing in the club which I'm sure they will after spending the money they did on Suarez and Carroll . The giving the position Liverpool find themselves in I'm sure they'd consider finishing fifth a good achievement with their topsy-turvy form this season .

It's definitely possible but very unlikely this season. Next season is more likely.

So very true but I doubt it with Chelsea back in form I think they will be the team to sneak fourth place and not Liverrpool . Next season will be a key season for Liverpool with their owners I'm sure keen to show in the summer that they're still committing to investing in the club so maybe they'll bring in a few good wingers to replace their distinctly average wingers this season .

No. I think they have left it too late. I fancy Chelsea, Tottenham, Man City, Arsenal and Man United to finish above Liverpool. If King Kenny had have taken over earier then possibly, but I think now it is too late. Also they are still too inconsistent, beating Man Utd but losing to West Ham and Braga is not good. The partnership between Carrol and Suarez is promising, it could blossom, although deep down I don't think either striker will reach the magic 20 league goals a next season.

After Dalglish returned to Anfield, Liverpool is doing a lot better, but still they have problems with weaker opponents. The team looks fine, and the fans are always behind the team, so if Dalglish remains at Liverpool and will have the whole summer to organize the team, then I believe Liverpool fans will be very proud next season, as I think they will fight for the title again, and maybe even win it.

It will be very difficult for them. They have to content with Chelsea and Spurs if, the top three of Man Utd, Arsenal and Man City retain their status. Chelsea seem to have shaken off their mid season slump while Spurs had been getting the results. So unless both had a lost of form, I dont see Liverpool clinching a top 4 spot and Champions League qualification.

medman, Mathematically this is possible and you knew it of course or else this discussion will not be posted lol. How I wish they can finished 4th but IMO this is unlikely considering that for this to happen the 5 teams above them needs to drop points and they ain't going to drop many. Seeing how results are rather unpredictable in the BPL, things can swing the other way and finishing lower than their sixth position will be a disaster. That's not going to reflect well for King Kenny if that happens. He'll be only as good as Benitez lol. Having said that, I do believe they can achieve that next season but of course with some player changes. Cheers.
