What type do you do? Do you do your own firing?

I poured my first mold yesterday....a set of ducks. They turned out great!! I am hooked. I have a deer mold on its way to me....my first mold of my own!! I love it. I can't wait to do more. I can't wait to get my ducks painted and fired. We take them to my friends grandson's school and they fire them for free. This will work till I can get my own kiln in January. My friend is building her own kiln. I have contacted a lady who has a small one for $400.00 which is why I have to wait till January to buy it.

I'm making pots right now to put into a pit firing in mid January weather permitting. Most of my experience is with wheel thrown ceramics and hand built glazed and kiln fired ceramics. I've done a bit of raku. I'd love to have my own kiln someday.

I make pots sometimes and fire them in a bonfire clamp in the garden. We don't usually glaze them though as I tend to go for copies of archaeological pots. One day I'd love to have access to a modern kiln so I could do some glazing as well. Do you have a kiln of your own?

wow..i've always wanted to fire pots like that, unfortunately i just don't have the option to do that..my sister has kilns, and the whole ceramic shop, so we pour our own, and fire them ...i have always wanted to learn to make thrown pots...thank you so much for sharing
