Sweet is one of my favorite item and I think it is the best gift of God in terms of food. It has a good caloric value and it gives us ample amount of energy. And hence, all problems start. My beloved wife does not like to place it in my dish as she frightens that it may enhance total calorie. What is problem there? I have normal blood sugar, BP is also fantastic even getting such behavior from my sweet heart. Do you think I should avoid sweet?

Although it seems impossible, even candy can be replaced. Eat fresh fruit, juices and from time to time and you are allowed to taste a piece of dark chocolate with high cocoa content.

I believe there is some form of sweets in everything we eat. It may not be pure sugar but exists. I think as long as you are reasonable with the amount you eat thing will be fine.

If you like sweets, you shouldn't avoid them, but you should definitely consume them with moderation;sweets may be a gift of God,but that gift can be harmful if used in excess.I've also enjoyed more sweets since I stopped smoking, but I try not to exaggerate with them. The temptation is big,but like many other things in life,we should resist it from time to time.

I think it is good to cut down on the sweets intake as one gets older. When I was youner I used to love sweets, as I grow older, I discovered it is not good for my health.

i dont think that avoid is the word to use... anything we do or eat for that matter we need to do it in moderation. sweets has a few benefits too. and this is also one of the foods that can make us happy. it also takes of stress. so for me even we have a family of diabetes we dont avoid it but we take it in moderation. if we dont have sugar in our bodies it is also bad.

I don't think that we should ever deprive yourself of something that we love. That being said, everything that is consumed above moderation is bad for you. You can still eat a cake as long as you will not devour the whole entire cake. Just like you can still eat a slice or two of pizza as long as you will not eat the entire pizza. You said that you don't have health issues so I think you don't have to restraint yourself that much. As long as you are healthy with the normal weight then it fine.

Just don't too much of it. There are many common medical problems caused by it and one is tooth decay. Children are prone to it because they just can't get enough of candies, lollipops and bubble gums. Some have migraine/headache when taking too much sweets. Although, too much sugar is also too much calorie. 1 cup of sugar is about 770 calories. Taking too much then could make you obese. 1 chocolate bar has about 200-300 calories, it depends. Try to eat even just a bar of chocolate everyday in two weeks. Huh, sounds like fun yet in the end - you'll bloat and get big. An average human body should only get about 1200 calories in one day depending on one's weight. Balance diet is important to avoid being sick. You can eat as much as you can! Just know what you eat, know it's contents - read labels, but most importantly watch your weight.

Hi Saibal! Welcome to Mylot! It really depends upon your medical condition. If you are diabetic then it is a no, no,no. But since you said that you have normal blood sugar, I don't find any reason for you not to have sweets. Just make sure you take it in moderation. Too much of anything is not good.

There is no need for you to avoid sweets at all but you just have to take them in moderation. Don't take too much as too much sweets can cause some health problems like diabetes. Sweets are a good source of glucose which gives us energy and glucose is also known as food for the brain because it enhances our memory. Even if you say that your blood sugar is normal, this is true only as of now but we don't know what will happen in the future if you continue to consume too much sweets.

I don't think you should avoid sweets. It has some nutritional benefits too. Just keep in mind that you should take it in moderation, cause it might trigger something that's not good for your health. I, myself loves sweets and I can't live a day without it. just take guard of your health. have a good day!

Sorry but You mean consuming Sugar or Eating Sweet Deserts or Chocolate in General. If Your not Diabetic and don't Break Out On Your Face or Body. Then Eat what You like as Your a Grown Man. Talk with Your Wife and Discuss the Issue in an adult Manner. Good Luck. :-)

Avoiding sweets is probably impossible to avoid, because in restaurants there would always be a Dessert Section. I was in class today and out of no where I started thinking of getting a snicker bar.

I do not think you need to avoid sweets if you have no known medical issues. Just be sure not to way over do it. But a bit of sweets every now and again will be good for you.
