I just learned that Skype offered a free call to Japan and Ying Jiang, China. They are both the places which suffer the earthquake. Well done, Skype! http://client.skype.tom.com/activity/?c=newyear&action=showEarth#

GOOD on them for providing that service, especially to be able to connect those people with their families as not knowing that your family is safe would be horrible. Cheers Sue

I think that is a wonderful idea. I know that a lot of people would originally want to call but hesitate because of the cost. For them to give free calls like this, really shows that they are willing to do what they can to help whoever they can. Great job to them!!

Thanks for the information youless. After I had a brief watch at the linked site I know roughly that this is for Skype client only and it is effective via Tom-Skype4.0 or 4.2 edition. If I'm not mistaken each ID is allowed to make a single call only. This is to give opportunity to all the users. I appreciate the company has done such a good deed to offer its clients free call to contact their dear and close ones in the two mentioned places Several airline companies here today also announce to offer free tickets for 29 persons and some others who stay in Fukushima or nearby areas back to homeland

Perhaps it is long time ago. Today I am just pleased to Skype because its result is very good. Sometimes I make a phone call abroad by it.
