If you have read any of my other discussions then you know that I had a heart attack two years ago when I was 36. My doctors said it was because of very high triglycerides. They are supposed to stay under 140 and mine were over 1100 because it runs in my family. The triglycerides are now under control and the BAIN of my existence is these cigarrettes. It's PAST time to quit. The patches don't work for me and chantix reacts badly with my heart meds. Any advice on quitting? If you're not a smoker then please take into consideration that it is an addiction and try not to be too mean. I just want to quit with as little nasty side affects as poosible. My family shouldn't have to suffer because I have a problem. Thanks you guys!

Smoking is really a very bad habit and it cause many dangerous diseases, but believe me nothing is immposible in this world if you deciede to leave smoking you can do this, first believe on yourself and strongly stay in your decision, self confidence is very important, and if you need try any mouth freshner or chewing gum instead of smoking, but very important thing is control on your self, it may cause headache or body pain due to habit of body to smoke but dont go again towards it, after a few days these all discomfort gone and you will leave smoking.

I'll take your' advice and keep telling myself that I can do this. I'll deal with the headaches and grouchiness as long as I can put them down for good! Thank you!

i'm not a smoker but i have friends who does and now they quit. what they did was when feel like smoking they just eat candies. and divert their attention to other things. you have to discipline yourself. you must have a strong determination and perseverance. if you really want to quit smoking you have to follow what your doctors advice. think of your family and it's effect whenever you smoke. Love your body, love yourself.

i dont smoke but i have a daughter that does and she has tryed quitting but always goes back i can imagine it would be hard to quit.. i am addicted to pop.. and i know i have had a terrible time trying to quit.. the thing that i have tryed is cutting back maybe you could try cutting back. or when you get the urge to smoke chew gum or get a sucker and suck on it instead.. i try to drink water instead of pop sometimes it works.. good luck..

Once again, I'm late to my own party! Sorry about that! You have some really good suggestions. I'm going to try chewing gum when I get the urge to smoke. I'll let you know how it goes. Thank you!

Hey, you can try chewing gum or attending a therapy to subsides the tension you make if your not smoking.. or may be limit the sticks you make in a day.
