Not sure if I should get into modeling... Should I?

Do I have modeling potential? - This is for the discussion to determine whether or not I should enter into the compeition and I really really don't know if I should. I want to but I need people's input.

Do you think I have modeling potential? My fiancee believes so, and the friends I talk to the most who actually speak to me do... So I was thinking since there's a model search in the mall, should I enter? I am only 5'1" and I know catwalk models are tall but the photoshoot models are different standards so I'm still not sure but I'd love to take that opportunity. My cousins and friends keep saying I'm gorgeous but is that enough? o_O

When I was young, my past wasn't so great financially. I use to be criticised for what I use to look like back then since people were so judgemental. I never really got these kind of complements much in high school unless it was coming from a pedophile. o.o Now that nightmare's over and I've put some work into myself over the past year and changed up my lifestyle a bit to improve myself into a better person with a higher self-esteem; with all the support I've been getting over the past few weeks (including this one) it's really build my confidence to want to try out for the photography model. I've seen a lot of modeling shows when I was young and when I was bored - I always thought of it as an artform to not just display myself, but the feel and the look of the clothing that I'm in. I hope I could make it into the top 25 because my student loans needs to be paid off, I've got bills to pay, and to give back to others who has helped me in the past with their kindness and generosity. Thank-YOU for your encouragement and support. ^^

There's no harm in trying so audition for it. Although your height might really be a concern for potential modeling career. There would be a high volume of participants, thus competition is tough and I think being tall would really be a standout. Anyway, this kind of career does not only require height you have to have a substantial amount of confidence and poise to be noticed. Well, good luck I hope you would really have a good shot.

Of course you should go for it, your fiance is right, you're hot. You could definitely make it in the modelling world. Don't be held back by your height, there have been plenty of models who were short, they probably don't make it to supermodel status, but they are still successful. Modelling isn't just about looks, it's about how you hold yourself, your confidence, your ability to follow direction from a photographer, etc. But if you think you can make (and it seems a lot of people think you can too) you should definitely, absolutely, 100% GO FOR IT!

Hi Life guru, I saw your picture and there is no doubt that you do look gorgeous and your boy friend is definitely lucky to catch a fish like you. But about modelling well it is more than a beautiful face. Yes it usually demands height but not models are 5 10. Also you would have to get used to strict diet and exercise routine. But i think you look gorgeous enough to try it and who knows you might be sucessful one day.

Yeah.. :3 Strict diet and exercise is what I live for. xD Well my metab is insane and I can eat whatever and remain the same. o.O I use to be a 153lb person and now I'm a person who can wear size 2 -- 106lb range. n_n;; I seen some girls in my college who are tall and looks like they wear size 0, but I'll have to try to show some people up with what I've got in the competition in May. :3 Thank-you for the kind words. ^^

Hi LifeGuru, So as long as you understand that it is not easy and takes a great deal of effort and persistence, I do not see why not. Get the opinions of professional, caution yourself from the quick scheme ones. Rea search what it takes online and read many reviews from many who tried and couldn't. This will give you an idea if you feel you can accomplish it. Nothing in life is impossible, some have luck and some don't but trying is the key!

^^ Hi, thanks for the input. I nearly went into a quich scheme thing for actors and extras - luckily I didn't finalize their offer or they'd make a pretty penny out of me with $116 for a photoshoot which is a load of crap. I'm better off with modeling since I have a knack for it. Thanks for the warning though and thank you again. :3

hi there. yes indeed you look gorgeous. believe in yourself that you can do it. i always wanted to be a model too but there are just no opportunities that come but also maybe i just don't pay much attention to it because i am very busy finishing my papers for my exams because i just graduated from nursing so all i did was just study and stay at home. but even up to now i am still very busy with my papers and also studying for my exam so i can finally be a registered nurse so since there are opportunities that come your way, grab it and go for it you are even luck you know how to cat walk, a lot of girls who also aspires to be a model don't know how, including me hehehe. good luck. you can do it!

Yes, I missed out on an awesome opportunity before when I was 14. I'm seeing now that I need to take this opportunity as my advantage I'd probably have a better chance now since my body's changed over the years. Thank-you!
