It seems that slavery is working for someone who is paying you millions to play a game. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/Adrian-Peterson-expresses-frustration-on-labor-i?urn=nfl-wp206 He made this comment during an interview over the breakdown of NFL talks between players and owners. He thinks that if the owners make more money then the players should get a cut of that. My question is Adrian how much have you contributed toward your success. Did you pay your High School Coach, your college coaches, what about training camps, have you ever had to purchase your own uniforms or pay for a place to play? Adrian Peterson is like many people who do not understand simple economics. If a business takes in $1,000,000 that is not all their money. In the case of a football team they pay rent for the stadium, they have to pay the players, coaches, trainers, media people and other support staff. They have to pay for training facilities, travel, and rooms and meals when the team is on the road. The owners pay for advertising to promote the team and players. When the players and or team play poorly and fans don't show up then the owners lose revenue and ticket sales. What do the players give up when they play poorly? They still get paid their contract, they don't have to pay out anything for playing on the team. Maybe Adrian Peterson is right - Playing Professional Football is Modern day slavery. The owners take all the risk and the players are taken care of with no expense or investment on their part other than their time.

Yes the owners have to spend all that money on their teams! I can see that but that is not the whole story! The big problem with the owners is they want more money back from the players and to me doesn't make sense! The players wanted them (the owners) to prove why they should get all this money back but they didn't supply enough information on it! The NFL is the highest grossing asnd most popular sport in the US! This makes no sense why the owners want so much more money back! So Andrian Peterson made a stupid comment about it! With the players,it is a business. This is how they are making a living right now. Their careers,at some, are very short! NFl players don't make money like the players in the NBA and no one makes the money like players do in the Major Leagues! Yes some players do stupid stuff with money, who doesn't! What I am trying to say is both sides have issues and I hope they can be worked out! I am a Packer fan and I am pride we are owned by share holders and most are from Wisconsin!
