when surfing the web tonight i came a carrose a news report about weird house. this is one of the ones that i thought was cool at the same time weird. it seems like a great design, except for the matter of how much water do you get in you house during a costal rain storm. personaly i think that it would be great for very nice weather, but not someing that i would want to own in florda. below there is some additional information about this house. thank in advance for your responses. The Dune House Location: Atlantic Beach, Florida Price: $1.4 million Bed: 2 Bath: 2; Sq. ft: 1500 Claim to Fame: It’s a disco-era house in a dune! The Dune House in Atlantic Beach, FL. Photo: Tansy Moon | Prudential Network Realty About: This design by architect William Morgan is ensconced within the earth, forming two double-height apartments carved into a sand dune. The apartments are entered at street level and a common stair leads to the upper floor’s entryway, bedroom and bath. On the main lower floor, the living, dining and kitchen with mostly built-in furniture open Oceanside to a covered terrace at beach level. The building was constructed in 1975 using swimming pool technology, a gunite-concrete shell anchored to a cast concrete floor. It’s also one of the original green roofs, as it’s topped by a mantle of earth stabilized by native landscaping which helps to maintain a 70-degree temperature inside.

i don't think i can live longer with that structure even if i have the money. the place and the house itself is interesting. but i cannot imagine the heavy waters coming inside the house when it storms.

ya i know. i could understand if they had some kind of system to prevent some thing like that form happening, but it doesn't look that way. is one of those house that would be interesting to live in and have parties, but i don't think that i would ever make it a permanent home.

wow! that's a cool looking house there. but i would have to say its not something that i would buy. the fact that its underground and near the beach it would seem like it would cause a great deal of water damage. other then that it would make a very cool summer party house. i can't believe that some one would actually want to buy and live in this house all year round. it makes me wonder what the person that built it was think.

Hi. sisco100. The house is very interesting. I am just unsure if I want to take the chance of living in it. I mean it is near the below ground. I think that this would be fun especially for emergencies and other outdoor vacations.

Hmmm. The place looks good but I don't think I can live that near to the seashore. A beach house is kinda cool though unless there are really nice infrastructures that can protect the house from the storm. Maybe, having it elevated enough not to be reached by the surge of water would be cool. I've always dreamed of having a house near the beach especially at a state like Florida where the view of the beach is just so refreshing.
