Recently, I read a newspaper about this tactics Capital One credit card using recently to get their customers to pay the old debt that was long, long, long time ago, even way pass the statute of limitation. On the billing statement, they would include this phrase of "according to Federal Law, section 3.04, etc...... We are in compliance accordance to this statute, and legally charge this default debt etc....." If something that is way pass the statute of limitation, you don't have the responsibility to pay for it. Once you make a payment, even a penny, you are automatically admit this debt is legit, and they will start charging you. So, ignore it, or do some more depth research on it.

Actually from what I have seen, they are far from the only ones trying out this tactic and even trying to put it back on your Credit Report. I think personally there needs to be a way to Stop companies like this from doing this, and makes you wonder if since the Banks got so much money to keep them open this type of thing is now legal as well? It is definately CONSUMER Beware and know your rights.
