I go to travel in many place,at sea or mountains or in other touristic objective. But in some situation I need more information to know what is the right way to travel at destination. In this case a good guide is a best friend ,you will save a lot of time and nervous. So I find that is good way to take with me a map,or a good friend or a local guide. You have an experience in your travels? What methods you use for a best orientation in travels, vacantion or trips?

These days there are some very informative travel guide books. They explain the sights very well and provide detail of self guided walking tours. It is sensible to take a good map with you. I don't usually have a guide with me on my trips. I am an independent traveler. I found it essential to take a backpacker style tour of Kangaroo Island in South Australia due to there not being public transport there. I really enjoyed that two day tour and extended my stay to see the penguins in Penneshaw

Before we go on a trip I usually do my research online. Fortunately, I was able to find a reliable forum where visitors share their experiences with the place. I get to know the must-see places to visit, suggestions for hotel accommodations, places to eat, what things to buy as souvenirs. Basically, everything I need to know is there so there is no reason for me to hire a tour guide.

I have only used a guide once and did not like it really only because I found I had to be on a schedule and found myself rushing to each destination. Did not feel like a vacation only like a chore. Mine was arranged through my travel agency when I went to Orlando Florida.
