Post Card!

On Feb 19th, Walker and I attended a lovely wedding. The groom was the son of our optometrist, who happens to be one of our best friends. We took lots of pics. All kinds of stuff happened, and I never did get around to getting them printed. Today I got a bright idea. I still had their wedding program in my purse, and their mailing address was printed on the back. The variety store nextdoor sells post cards, and there's a mailbox right out front. $1 for a PC, and a little under a buck for postage. It was cheaper than printing off all those pics. I wrote a little note telling them who I was, and what I had fir them, included my e-mail address, and stamped it. I reached into my purse and located the program. That's when I noticed their PHONE NUMBER was on there too. LOL It was still $2 well spent, because now they'll have a nice post card for their scrapbook. ;) When was the last time you sent a post card?

I have a friend who travels a lot, and before he leaves, he makes address labels on his computer, for everyone he'd like to write to, and that makes the process much faster. I think it's a great idea, so he can take the time to write them, and not spend all of his time writing addresses. More time means he can write more cards! :)

My mother used to do that, I'm not that organized, and... the last time I traveled in 2007 it was because my cousin was dying. My mother really wanted to go, but she couldn't travel by herself, I said I would go, and then my brother came along too.
My sister and her partner met us in New Jersey (they were coming down from visiting her partner's family in Maine.)
So, I really didn't have much time to do anything up there, in fact, since my mother jerked all night long, I also had a terrible time sleeping.

I've never been to Germany, but I'd love to go. :) If I went, I'd definitely send post cards.

Thank you. That was before I knew their phone number was on there. I could have easily waited till I got home, and sent them one of my personalized note cards, but I wanted to get something in the mail right away. :)

Hahaha, it seems ages. We always send email or sms.
I can't recall when is the last time I sent out a
post card. However, I do remember receiving a postcard
from my husband when he was oversea for duty. He will
just get a post card and write down a line or two. Fast
and convenient.

Hmm...
I'm thinking. I'm thinking.
Don't think I ever have. Bought plenty postcards, but the best intentions often...yada yada yada. You know the rest.
Cool idea though, danishcanadian.

I know, I know. The way the post office is, the recipients never get the cards until long after the person has arrived home from the trip. I have a photo album full of post cards that I bought when I was in Denmark.

With e-mail etc, people hardly ever take the time to write with a pen anymore, unless they are signing something. It was handy for me, because I sure didn't have a mini-printer with me, so I had to write it out by hand. LOL It was neat to do that again after a lot of years.

That was a great idea. Hmmmm...the last postcard I sent was some time ago. I don't have postcard stamps, and it bugs me to put a regular 44 cent stamp on a post card. So that means I would have to go to the post office to mail it with the correct postage. I should start sending some out though. Just a bit of encouragement maybe.

Jasmine and I do a homeschool yahoo group to trade post cards. We are collecting just from the United States, but many trade Canada as well as other countries.
We have not done any trading for months now, but once I get settled in and all of my desk type things put away here in the new house, we are going to try to finish up our collection.

I have never sent a postcard. I have bought some traveling to different places but always to keep as a memento. Our times are so technology based that it is so much easier to send an e-mail or call someone if you want to share something with someone. I have sent my dad letters though. He tells me he reads them from time to time so they must mean something to him.
It was a great idea to send something for their scrap book! That was a very nice gesture. I also like the fact that their phone number was on the program. Sometimes we lose people's numbers. This is a way to contact them if that happens.
