how many fish were jonah swallowed by?

in recent bible studies we have gone over literal hebrew translations in the book of jonah. jonah is swallowed by a fish for disobeying god. in the first chapter the hebrew masculine form of the word 'fish' is used. then in the next verse the feminine form. and then in chapter 2 verse 10 the masculine form is used again.

One fish, but apparently it was gender confused. I'm not familiar with the translation that you're referring to. Is it the original text of one of the ancient documents or is it simply a Hebrew translation of one of the ancient documents? Could be the translator messed up like the person above me said. That's more likely.
