World War III coming?

I just read on cnn.com that France, the U.S.A., Britain and others have joined forces and have started firing missiles in Libya to stop the government from what they are doing to their people. I am devastated and horrified to learn that the Italian Prime Minister confirmed it has been proposed to use Italy as a NATO base. We are going through too much with our recession, the possible nuclear meltdown in Japan and the world still has not gotten over natural disasters in Japan, Haiti, Indonesia and New Orleans. I am worried with all this going on our world is too unstable to go go to war! All we need is China, Korea and other superpowers to go against what we are doing and there will be a world war! Does anyone else have concerns or feelings of unrest like I do? What can we do as countries or even households to prepare ourselves against possible terrorists attacks, inflated food prices and our men being drafted into a war?

I don't even know if it is possible for a World War to happen in this day and age. The world is very different than it was in the 1930s and 1940s. However, with that in mind, things are really not that good without the war. The world seems to be falling apart for a number of reasons and people are getting extremely frustrated all over the world.
We could be living history to say the very least and it is not the good time. I still am skeptical if this is the end or if things are going to get better. Still it is going to be interesting and not the good type of interesting. It is going to be the interesting that we cannot really look away at what is going to happen, we are somehow compelled to look at everything. Still the world has changed a lot and I don't think that we could survive another world war.

I agree that we would not be able to survive another world war. Our bombs got bigger and badder. Terrorists have come up with all kinds of ways to reach havoc. Our technology is so much better. I hope for everyone's sake that this situation can be resolved and the quicker the better!

Ya, i really concern about this. We have to face a lot of natural disaster. We don't know when and where is the next earthquake or tsunami will happen. And now, we have to face war again.
The worst thing is, we don't know wheather Libya have bio weapon or not. If US, Britain and etc really declare war on Libya, they will definitely use it if they have the bio weapon. Then, world is not destoy by natural disaster but human destory the Earth.

Yes that is something to think about as well. We do not know which countries have nuclear weapons. Even if Libya does not, they can get an ally that does. It is very stressful to think of all the devastation that can happen at anytime. This truly is a different world we live in now.

I really hate how this is all starting to happen it's no good. I never thought that I would actually see the day were so much violence would once again happen it really is a horrible site. World War 3 one never knows what could happen, but that might happen, but I would prefer that it doesn't happen because that is not something that I want to hear about in the news because in wars to much people die and it's just really sad to see that all happening.

this is really scary because it is not impossible to happen. the leader of Libya has already declared war even besides war, there are also a lot of natural disasters and calamities.

Not sure if there will be a "World" War... but the bible does state there will be a rising in the middle east and the four corners of the world will come together to crush the evil uprising... not sure how true this will be....
But I think geopolitical issues could very well lead to major wars coming up. It's a hotbed right now... anything could happen and its pretty darned scary... we are only going to destroy ourselves in the end.

I am in Italy and it does look pretty scary and so close to home

scared , what goes wrong , why were those happen so furiously , the people involved in the conflicts what they are fighting for .
at present time we have many trouble and uneven , but i don't think we can call it the world war III , it is more likely regional revolt where resident think their government betrayed them.
with rapidly population increasing day by day ,and less land for farm and shelter,continue dispute between religions , uninterrupted natural disasters ,
as it were we are living in a stupid age .
the world war must be coming sooner or later , not now
