Earning money through adsense !!

hi guys Was just wondering how much do you guys earn through adsense. Everyone said that adsense is useless and you should try some other alternative. but guys to tell you the truth. the amount of money adsense pays no one else does. I just started adsense 10-20 days back and already made more than 40$ in it. Now thats something i never made in bidvertiser for lats 2 years. So whats your views on adsense. I know adsense block and disable your account. but thats something we have done right. we misused in some way or another thats why that happened. So whats your views on it.
