At last Indian ballers come to the party and win a match for India.

After squandering number of chances from a position of strength Indian ballers finally came to the party and won a match for India against full member country. I hope this form of ballers will continue in the quarterfinals where there would be no second chance. To day Indian batsmen once again disappointed in keeping up the tempo of scoring and faltered in dying overs of the game. At one time they were expected to score 300 plus but managed only 268 and lost all their wickets without even completed the full quota of overs. West Indies in reply started very well and top four batsmen scoring some valuable runs. Lower middle order could not contribute anything and folded up the innings at 188 in 43 overs. West Indies thus entered the second round without single win over the full members. They will now meet No.1 team in group A, Pakistan while India will meet Australia in quarter finals.

'Ballers'???? I don't know why some of you insist on using baller when everyone else is using 'bowler'. I think you are doing it on purpose. It sounds very gross.

Thank you moksha for correcting my English. I will keep that in mind during future postings. It would have been nice if you had commented something on the subject matter. Mylot I feel gives more importance to that.

Sorry if you felt offended, i was not correcting your English. your english is doing just fine but 'balling' is too gross. India is playing well, maybe the confidence is not there 100% but the introduction of Ashwin in the QF will be the master stroke. The whole of India was lambasting the Indians for their seemingly insipid display but they have conveniently forgotten that the fought well against the Proteas and the English and definitely did well to finish second behind SA. The idea is not to peak too soon in a long tournament. Even Sachin's failure against WI is a good sign. It gave Yuvi a chance to play a match winning knock. There is no batsman who has not had a decent outing. The failure of Pathan so far is in fact a warning for the other teams. When he comes good the other team can start to pack their bags.Ashwin will be itching to get involved. Don't rule out the effervescent Malyalee Sree, if he plays he will strike for India.

Hi Dear Msdivkar! Yes,yesterday the barring Yuvraj and Virat our batsmen terribly disappointed the Indian fans by their poor show! They are repeatedly committing the same mistake and it is really disgraceful thing for the team whom we call as a would be champion team, which can't even complete 50 overs of batting? The fielding was also quite poor! Some how it was the bowlers who contributed some saving graces or other wise we had it yesterday! Now since we are going to meet with Aussies now, our team should take the advantage of the low morale what they are having right now after loosing to Pakistan! If our players show even if a small part of spark and play the game with confidence we can overcome this team as now this team is lacking the big named players who used to be a unbeaten ones for the opponent team! So I think if we play a match carefully and sensibly then we can defeat Australia to get a place in semifinals! Let us wish best of luck to out team! Thanks !

Hi akrao, India does have an history of bouncing back when it is most needed. I think they will do so in the match against Aussies and they are not the force they used to be a few years back. I feel India will win the match and sneak into semis.

yes zaheer khan and other bowlers did came back well after first 30 overs when the west indies players dominated the match.the wicket of devon smith did made huge change in the match and zaheer khan made that break throw.they did a pretty good job there.

Yes West Indies had the match all covered until 30 overs When Devon Smith was on crease. As soon as he fell they went off like a pack of cards similar to the one India did in match against South Africa.

Dear Msdivkar, The performances of the Indian bowlers were surely better. The addition of R. Ashwin definitely showed an improvement in the bowling line up. But the Indian lower middle order once again fails to make a mark. It is not as if they lack the talent, they lacked application. Yuvraj is finally playing to his potential. He is finally realizing how crucial his role is in this team... Congrats to Yuvraj for sticking it out...!!!! Zaheer Khan has become Dhoni's no: 1 go to man in a crisis situation, and more often than not he produces results. He came back to get the important wicket of Devon Smith. It commenced a West Indies batting collapse. Harbhajan's second spell was a very important one and was instrumental in creating pressure. He bowled slower in the air and got wickets. All said and done, bowling is India's weak link. Indian still lacks a couple of strike bowlers. I still believe Ashish Nehra or Sreesanth is always a better option than Munaf. He was lucky to complete the run out. The amount of time he took to take the bails off, was as if he was in a slow motion movie scene... (:P). So hopefully India can improve on their bowling and may be the lower middle order should try to bat out the whole 50 overs for once...!!! India vs Australia will be a good match for sure... Share your views... Balu.

I feel India should be favorite for the match. Indian chances should be 60 % and not 40%. Aussies are not that great force they used to be. They faltered at the first real challenge to them in this tournament. I hope and wish India come out trumps in this encounter.

In this match , india got some form back by the bowlers and they really did well to restrict the west indies from achieving the victory..
