Is it ok for a woman to make a marriage proposal to a man?

My girlfriend and i have been together for one year and she told me she wants to get married in two years. i told her that is too soon for me as i may not fully know her by then and may need at least a total of four years before marriage.
according to her, four years is too long and if i will not make to move and propose to her in the two years she will. What do you think about a woman making a marriage proposal to a man.

I guess that's cute.
I only seen guy doing marriage proposals in many ways ,surprising ways.
How i wish to see a woman doing such thing.
Or maybe..i can do these myself either

I think it's fine if that's what she wants to do. I don't see a problem with that. Men and women are supposed to be equal so if a man does it why not a woman? She just has to be prepared that she may be rejected if that happens she has to decide whether or not to stay or find someone else.

I think it's pretty hard to say exactly how many years you need before proposing to someone. It's not an exact science :) You will know when it feels right... but there's no reason why a woman cannot be the one to propose.

LOL yup! No guarantees whether you wait days, months or years ;) Do you actually like the idea of a woman proposing to you or do you really want to be the one to do it? Just curious how you feel about it now that she's brought it up. We don't always have a certain mindset or starting thinking a certain way until someone else changes our thought process :)

I think there is nothing wrong as it is womenfloks are coming to shouldrers of men, I also agree that men should not open car door to show women to get inside. Let them also have chance to lead everywhere. In your case, already facts are disclosed, only mear formalities are left till it is given shape in society, where people of both sides get together over Lunch/Dinner.

Well she is right man 4 years is a big time. You would feel lucky yourself that your girlfriend is so daring to purpose you.
Let her do that for you and do accept it

Wow ! You know what, I'm in a relationship from the past three and a half years and my experience tells me that its really all about the two of you. Don't fix a particular number of years i.e. in your case 4 and in her case, 2. Get married whenever you feel like, whenever you feel the time is right, whenever you feel that the relationship needs to go to the next level. It may take six years or it may even take just one year ! But when you feel that the time is right, do not wait more. :)
