are your eyes open while praying?

my friend says yes, coz he's afraid of thoughts that enter his mind everytime he prays with his eyes closed.
my other friend says he closes his eyes in reverence to the almighty
i close my eyes for respect.
how about you? why?

Well my eye are always closed while praying but I don't really know why. Maybe it's because my parents taught me that way, I really don't have any reasons than that.

and at first i though i was the only one with who thought that way, i used to think that way until i "respect" answered why i close my eyes. :)

I haven't noticed constancy when I pray, sometimes I close my eyes, sometimes not.
I don't pray really often, but sometimes when I do, I've no idea why, but I rise my head up and pray with my eyes opened, when I pray with eyes closed I put my head down.

nice.. i do that sometimes...praying formally or informally. :) talking to God is also praying and saying "thank you Lord" with your head up? I do that sometimes...
