My brother-in-law would always check on his new car whenever he arrives on weekends from working in a far place. He would always get pissed off of the youngest among the local dogs because it would always gnaw at the parts under the car! He said he wants the dog shot! 
Since the 3 dogs stay by the open garage, it will be inevitable that it will always be the case. So, last Saturday at my suggestion he made a fence made of plastic strong wire to be placed around the whole lower part of the car , so the dog can’t go under the car and gnaw on any parts anymore when he parks it there.
His problem with the dog was solved.

Well my dad had that problem with our dog too. He chewed the rubber part of our motorcycle. So my dad bought another and guess what... the dog chewed the same part. lol..

So what did your father do after that?
My brother in-law was able to say "i'll poison that dog!" when he again saw what the dog did to his car the previous weeks.
Now, with the idea i gave him, the dogs cannot gnaw on the under parts of his car. He was so happy when he came home last Saturday , that it was unharmed.

My father didn't replace the rubber anymore.. lol.. so the dog have nothing to gnaw anymore..
