Last Sunday I went to my history professor daughter’s marriage. Just then professor started yawing and asked me are you still sleepy my boy. We talked a bit and it was really a happy time for us. I just remembered those college days when I was caught while having a nap in the history class. The professor was so nice to me as he said just to get out of the class. But later when I met him, he told that if he did not make me out of the class the rest of the class for me would be a tolerance. Moreover he does not want me to tolerate his boring class. Have you ever slept in any class……

Hello, I slept in one of my classes 2 years ago.. But it was good because I was the only one quite and sleeping and the others are so noisy.. When the prof came in into our classroom and when I wake up all my classmates are in front of me and squatting.. HAHAHA! good thing I fell asleep, or else I am with them squatting with tons of books on the arms!

I remember back in my college days there were lectures that were extremely boring that made me want to sleep too. But for the record, I have never slept in any class or lecture before. Even if I feel sleepy during a class, I try my best to stay awake; taking notes and sucking on mints assist me in keeping awake. However, I do recall I had a friend who had the cheek to sit on the first row of a lecture and fell asleep while the lecture was still going on. And being on the front row, the lecturer easily spotted him napping when his head swayed to and fro. My poor friend got rudely awoken and was shamefully humiliated by the lecturer in front of the whole class! Poor friend, I think after that incident he never dared to sit in the front row again.....

I feel to sleep it would be better to have a corner. In our place mostly the professor will look in front row and back row and at times in the middle no right and left corners.

Lol, ravi.....I guess my friend didn't expect that he would fall asleep as well, but he did! He used to sit in the first row because his other good friends were there, but I reckon he couldn't contain his sleepiness that day!

I remember falling asleep in high school a lot. I would doze off during History class too, but I could still hear the teacher speak; I would just lay my head down and listen. In political science, our teacher did not want anyone to sleep on the desk so when I put my head down he said I could sleep on the floor if I liked but not on the desk. So I lay down in the aisle and fell asleep. I woke up in the next period with everyone gone so I was a little late to my next class. 2 hour lectures kind of make me really sleepy especially after pulling an all-nighter for an organic chemistry quiz before virology. Medication helps keep me awake but I don't take it everyday. Just on days I anticipate a lot of reading.

P.s. I think I fell asleep more in high school because I needed to attend the classes. In college I will just sleep through the classes altogether and not bother going. One term I found 1pm too early to get up so I did not attend lecture for most of that term. I ended up getting notes from other people and barely passing after making up work after taking extensions. I took it on pass/fail so all was good.

Our birth infront of my sir I shocked when I seen him. He ask me ohhhhhhh surekha How are you? Whats are doing now? They give the smile and tell my husband your wife was always sleeping in my lecture but she was intelligent. Most of the old memory is fresh Nice discussion.

surekharathi that is funny! I use to have history at 7am in the morning and having worked until 1 am the night before I always fell asleep in my class. I too was very successful in my class. Maybe the brain resting that way helped somehow.

I sleep in my class everyday. Especially when I hate the subject or it's boring. My teachers don't care anyway.

I've never slept in class. I've been mighty tempted on many occasions, but I've never done it. It was never cause the class was boring, it was cause I was just so tired. I managed to stay awake though. I usually sit up straight, make my hands write notes and keep looking up at the ceiling to keep me from nodding off. I think it's highly disrespectful and not very good for your personal education if you fall asleep in class.

Yes i have been caught once and everyone should get caught once in a while so they would learn something from it. I learnt to sleep well in some classes now so that i can sleep well in the class and stay awake in the night to do some chatting or surfing. I have also learned to take professors picture in classroom. I take pictures when i am bored because that seems like a challenge to me and i am doing it so well that when i post it in my blog, then no one knows from which class and section it was done from. Also learnt how to text and chat in class and also read novels which have been quite helpful for me in boring classes and novels also help improve my english. Nowadays i am also carrying a dictionary so that i can understand the words which are new to me! Cheers!

He seems like a nice teacher. Personally I don't think I've slept during class, but one of my friends has, and he did it quite a lot actually! One time the teacher asked all us other students to qietly walk out of the class room as it was about to be recess time. That way when the bell ringed, he wondered how long he had slept and where the heck everybody had gone. That was pretty priceless, but ofcourse we hadn't left him, we were just waiting outside the classroom :)

Then he stroke my table, i got up suddenly from my chair, all my classmated laught at me, so embarassed

I've never been caught sleeping in class....but sitting right in the front row, it's been easier for me to pretend to be awake and catch a quick nap. My husband is a part time professor and he says no one sleeps in his class though he does give them the option right in the beginning to leave if they want to sleep or not interested.

Hello Shamrack, Yes, the professors generally tell us to go outside and wash our face and come back. They have to, otherwise other students would be encourage to sleep if they find it boring too. Yes, i have slept right in front of the professor, in the second row! Lol, i wasn't alone, two other friends of mine were sleeping too with our heads bowed down! He didn't really say anything as long as we were attending his lectures! Ha ha ha. Those were funny days back then, omg.

You have reminded me of my student life, yes I sure did sleep in my class. I was always afraid, teachers would caught me and punish me or insult me or something like that. Later I realized that I would never sleep in a class if I had taken a cup of tea or eaten my breakfast. I believe that teachers should make the whole process of learning so attractive that students would never sleep in the class. I am afraid History is so boring and apparently History teachers also have the talent to put everyone to sleep. Geez no offense to all respected professors, believe me I also taught History to a class once. So Boring!!!!!!!!!

I really can relate to this. Yep. I always sleep in class for the reason that sometimes our professor is really getting boring. His voice becomes like a lullaby. BTW, it isn't bad sleeping in class as long as you can pass the quizzes that your prof gave you. haha! :)

Back in those days (I'm saying that because it was like 25 years ago), I had a History teacher who is very strict and her lessons are the most boring lesson among all the others teachers. I admit I do feel sleepy in class when she teach but I dare not fall asleep during her lessons because she likes to cane students.
