A message of hope here from Peter Gabriel and the lovely Kate Bush. At the time the media thought they were having an affair.
Oh, please gimme a break!
It's a great song though, "Don't Give Up" originally out in the 80s when there was as much unemployment as there is now.
Nothing changes!

This is an awesome song! I have always loved it but have not heard it for a while, so it was great that you posted it here.
Such a simple but effective concept for the film clip too with the two of them rotating around to face the camera for their part. Awesome!

Kind of ironic to with my timing as I had just given up on trying to contact the Yellow Pages after being on hold for 30 minutes when I opened the discussion!!

Now this is the kind of music I really like...to me it's a positive message. I'm not sure I'd ever heard it... In the 80s (and 90s and 00s) I was so busy at work, I basically stopped listening to music. I'm just now starting to listen to music again and enjoying it, even though I'm not crazy about today's music. Guess I'll listen to 80s music...

There was a lot of good stuff around in the 80s but much of it passed me by as I was blinkered by rock! If I compare what I term "trendy music" to what's around now, well, I wouldn't have slagged it off at the time.
At least Magnum are still going. Our neighbour brought round the "Moonking" CD along with a new shower curtain that I put up a bit ago. Too late to play the CD now but I shall tomorrow!
How I love Amazon!

This brings tears to my eyes every time I see it/hear it...especially the lines, "For every job, so many men..so many men no-one needs.." Amazing to think it's from the 80s as the words ring true now, unfortunately!!

Thanks for sharing. "God help the outcasts" from "Bells from Notre Dame" comes into my mind with inspirational lyrics "I know many less lucky than I, please help my people, we all are the children of God". In case the hope is fading away, it is like a prayer for me.
