Has Anyone Been To A Led Zeppelin Gig?

There were some great rock bands around in the 80s (the decade where I saw the most gigs) but I was too young to appreciate Led Zeppelin. A couple of my friends loved them and got me into them too. We were about 14 at the time but I think Led Zepp weren't performing live then and petered out eventually. We were born too late to appreciate them fully i.e. live.
Robert Plant has an awesome solo career now. I have a couple of his earlier efforts but I can't identify with what he's doing now to what he was doing then.
Oh, well, at least there's You Tube to remind us all what a great band they were.

Sadly I was far too young in the 7o's to catch Led Zeppelin. Plus I am pretty sure that they never actually toured Australia, preferring to tour the USA over and over again instead.
Stairway to Heaven is 8 minutes of pure musical brilliance. It might be considered overrated to a lot of people, but it is still one of my favourite songs of all time. I have all of their albums and have had them for many years, on cassette, vinyl and on CD. In fact, the first CD's that I ever bought were the Remasters Box Set in 1990.
I just recently finished reading a book on Led Zeppelin as well. most of what I read I already knew, but it went further into detail than most stuff I had read before on the band.

Definitely worth a read if you are a Zep fan.

I would not have put it past Bonzo to actually try with his head!
He did drum quite a bit with his hands, particularly during his lengthy solos, kind of like Djembe or Bongo drumming.

John Bonham has to be the greatest drummer of that era (and there were a few) and he could play drums with his head, apparently. How I would have loved to see him in action and that loveable lunatic Keith Moon!

Haha!
Dunno why I said that John Bonham played drums with his head. Imagine how difficult that would be. Er, impossible actually! No, what I MEANT was he could play drums with his hands..you know without the drumsticks.
THAT'S what I meant so why I said his head, I have no idea!

He has a new band, the name of which escapes me at the moment. Nothing like his Heavy Metal/Rock we're used to but he obviously loves performing so good luck to him I say.
Not sure what Jimmy Page is up to. My mate was in love with him and he was a pretty good guitarist as well lol.

I've seen Robert Plant live. No Pagey sadly and I'm not old enough to have seen Zep, but I wish I had.
