Is it just me, or are all kids going through the same cycle?

So I have noticed that from elementary school to college, most kids go through the same phases. In elementary school all the kids are trying to grow up and become the most adult they can. They find out what is cool and pretty much attack it, and try to be it. Then when middle school comes along, they think they made it. Their adults. So then they settle down a little and try not to become grown ups, but to act like them. They think they know everything there is to know about the world. Then once they get to high school as a freshman they're mostly annoying because they act so 'adult like'. Then as they become sophomores they look at the incoming freshman and realize that that used to be them, and they really start to think about things. They then turn into Juniors and start to really understand what the world consists of, and they realize they don't know nearly as much as they thought. And then in college they realize their almost old people so they party it up. Now is it just me, or does this sound like the typical kid?

Most of them still don't know what the world's like until AFTER college. That's when the reality check sets in.
