Islamic Law would never be consulted in America?

Well, if you thought that, you thought wrong. Hillsborough Florida Circuit Judge Richard Nielson is doing just that.
In a suit against a mosque, the judge is using Islamic Law to decide the case.
The mosque is asking the judge to rule on State law instead. Yes Florida has had law proposed to deny Sharia law. There have been people here on mylot that say it would never be an issue. Well, looks to me like it is.
I would whole heartedly support any law denying sharia.

I think it's just wrong that the Judge used the Islamic law. The dispute of the case wasn't about spirituality or faith. It's about the property in the state of Florida therefore state Law should be applied.

I didn't think we'd ever have to pass laws to deny Sharia Law, but if that's what it's going to take to stop judges and others like Nielson, then let's do it. Somehow I get the impression (gut feeling) that Nielson is actually "playing" with the parties involved by telling them we'll use Sharia until it doesn't work and then we'll use Florida state law. I think there's "more" to this story, but I can't put my finger on it...

No to any Sharia law in this country. Unfortunately many Americans are too foolish to either care or understand what is happening in our country, being deluded by "political correctness" and the Muslim usurper in the WH. Removing him could send a message to the Muslim community that we will not tolerate Sharia cruelty, but I don't see it happening any time soon.
It is the clear intent and purpose of Islam to impose itself, rule, and dominate every nation of the world.
