Do you consider yourself successful? If you were asked of this question... what would you answer? Me, i told her that i think i am successful, i started out as a simple call center agent but after struggling, persistence, patience and firm work ethics.. i have achieved more than i thought i could... and that is why i think i consider myself successful. what about you??? what can you say?

A tough question to answer, but you gave a good response. Each of us can say that we are successful in our own ways. Like when you say finish a simple task, you are successful in that term.

If asked this question during an interview I would have to say that yes I am successful. I started as a High school dropout and then went on to graduate with a Bachelors in IT with a 4.0 GPA Summa Cumm Laude. Now I am the Network Administrator where I work. I can definitely say without any hesitation that Yes I am Successful.

I would definitely say yes! Sometimes I think its a trick question cause I think some interviewers would ask this question to know the personality of the person he or she is interviewing. Success doesnt mean the achievements you had in your life, something it has something to do with your attitude that makes you a successful person.

You did the best you can. I am curious what age do you think the interviewer was. I personally don't like and would not like the question to be asked at me. Literally, it is too broad, but lots of interview questions are designed that way to probe certain responses. If I had the courage, I would ask "Why are you asking that way?" "How old do you think I am?" "Do you see years of experience on my face?" LOL. I think proper responses in this unrealistic situation is to bring in your experience at best. I would say "I have hired 300 people...... I managed to bring millions of dollars to X,Y and Z. I am fluent in ....." Of course if you have tons of experience that you can put in your resume, it would be easier to respond to that. Also, age and years of work experience really help. But, not very many of us have those when we sit and be thrown a question like that. In that case, you can bring your academic experience, your hobby, and your personal experience if you care to share.

Trusting God will suffice for one to receive His help and protection and hence achieve true success; he must first belong with God's people. Indeed, no success can be greater than what God reserves for His chosen people, even if they cannot have fame, fortune or power in this world.

This question is basically asked to judge your self esteem. I have been a part of lot of interview workshops, preparing and planning content. The main motive behind this question is to judge how you see yourself, do you take pride in your achievements, no matter how small they are, do you feel confident enough to state your achievements and feel worthy of them.

I think you answered the interviewer quite well. I think people all want to hire the people who have self-confidence. So no matter what, you shall show your confident attitude. If I were you, I would also said I was successful and I would keep on making efforts to be better. I love China

My answer is "i am successful because i was able to face my fear which is having an interview like this, most of the time i am nervous and words are running out that i could hardly construct my phrase correctly, but this time,i am sure i sounded more confident am i right?" this is what exactly i respond when i hit this question by an interviewer. luckily i got the job...to think that it's my first job interview(whew...so nervous that time...really i stammer, but keep my confidence)

at 25, i cant say im really successful. i guess im still working my way on it. i have a lot of weaknesses i still need to work on but my enthusiasm and my perseverance would surely compensate for it. i have a lot to learn from my every day mistakes.

that's a very, very tough question. but of course, applying for a job is like selling yourself to the company. at my point of view, i would say I believe i am successful in some ways, but i'd also point out some areas that i think i'm not successful yet. i'm still young and at my age, i have not yet achieved what successful people already had. everyday is a chance for learning and growth, that i am willing to be criticized just for the sake of learning. But at the end, i will emphasize my success as a person and as a child of God.

That is a perfect way to answer that question. It is truthful and positive sounding. If you didn't feel that you were successful yet you could always say how you are working towards goals. THats what im doing.

Sounds like you gave them a really good answer, I think I would have drawn a blank at first and probably would have needed some time to really think about it. I guess my response would be, I believe that I have been successful in life. I am still here living everyday and working to pay for my expenses. I have accomplished many of my goals and in turn have set many others to accomplish. I measure success in my ability to fulfill my word. I like your response a lot better than my own but that's probably what I would have said. Thanks for posting!
