Dear all, The first quarter finals of this world cup had two unpredictable teams meet. Pakistan VS West Indies. The West Indies batted first and managed only 112 runs in 43.3 overs. The Pakistani batsmen ate up the runs in 20 overs with alltheir wickets intact. Pakistan storms in to the Semi Finals and the West Indies team exits 2011 World Cup...!!!! What has happened to the West Indies team... Their recent record in one day internationals show that they have not registered a victory over a decent side in long time. Their was a time when any batsmen would butterflies in their stomach when they thought about facing the West Indies pacers; the Malcom Marshals, Joel Garners, Andy Roberts, Ian Bishops Courtney Walshes, Curltl Ambroses etc. They even had some of the best batsmen ever. Clive Loyd, Sir. Viv Richards, Alvin Kalicharan, Sir. Gary Sobers and arguably the greatest left handed batsmen ever, Brian Lara. Where has all that flair the magic gone??? I mean, they just do not seem to be producing any match winners and their so called current match winners are not winning any matches for them. I know it is impossible to bring out West Indies team like that they had in 1979 or 1983. But surely, they can do better than this. They must do better than this. I hope they come to their winning ways soon... Any match is good only when it gets competitive. Right now the West Indies team is sadly not competition at all...!!! Share your views...!!!! Balu

It definitely was a minnow against a proper cricket team. Some of the batting there was atrocious and school boyish. I really do not know what exactly is the role of Sammy in the team. He neither contributes with the bat and ball and he is not a great captain either. And Chris Gayle was at his irresponsible best!! I think West Indies have good talent but they need to take some hard decisions. They need to rebuild the team around the young talents of Darren Bravo and Russel. Cheers! Ram
