Does anyone feel like the harder they try at work the more crap they have to deal with?

Yes I am a cashier so I tend to get a lot of "crap" from people anyway. But whenever I try to work really hard, I end up getting so many problems from customers. It always leaves me wondering why I try so hard for people who just don't care!
