Does more and harsher natural distasters mean the end of the world is on the way

Sometimes I wish it were the end. But much like the hole in the ozone scare, the y2k bug, and every other doomsday prophecy I don't expect much. You see the earth has been around for millions of years with its "disasters". The tools we use to track natural disasters, earthquakes, and wars have really only been around a short time, less than 100 years at best. In all of recorded history there have always been wars, there's probably never been a time in recent history when there wasn't a war going on somewhere. World population has drastically increased, so when a disaster hits instead of affecting hundreds it affects thousands or more. There's roughly 6 billion people and growing at an alarming rate. There is a finite amount of space and resources and I think even with technology we are starting to push the limit. So, end of the world, I highly doubt. The planet is as it has been and does as it has without regard to humans. A revolution or apocalyptic dark age for man... perhaps.
