Is a Mobile phone really necessary element for living today

We have to avoid the cellular mobile phones in some times. Like when we are talking with our family members, friends, with our loved ones. Because it is break to our conversation. It will spoils the good communication. Nowadays lovers and couples have to think about this and make their lives happy.

Nowadays mobile phones play an important role to society. It is convenient for everybody to text or call a person if they will be late or if they need help with something. I look at it as a tool to be of help to people and nothing more. Though it may be harmful for people to use it often but look at how it has helped as a lot today in terms of every little thing. Unlike before things do not go as planned because of lack of communication but now that it is available and affordable we get to do things faster, easier because of mobile phones.

I believe mobile phones are convenient, however I do not like them. When I was still working I had to carry a mobile phone, then suddenly I was never away from work. It was very stressful. Now I am retired but my kids insist I carry a mobile phone. It is useful in some instances such as when your car breaks down or when you are going to be late for a rendez-vous. Also in an emergency medical situation. Other than that I find them a nuisance. I take public transportation a lot and people gabble to their boyfriends or girlfriends and all the world hears them. Where are you now? I am on the streetcar? where are you going? I am going shopping... and so on and so forth. I find that very rude. Also the use of mobile phones while driving a car has caused serious accidents some with loss of life. Finally in my country a law has been passed imposing a stiff fine when you are caught driving and talking on a hand held device. Recently also in my town 3 streetcar drivers were fired from their jobs because they were using their phones. I think mobiles are useful as long as people still use good manners and don't inconvenience their neighbors on a bus or train or endanger the lives of passengers if they are driving a vehicle such as a car, bus, streetcar or train.

No they are not a necessity. The only things that are necessary are eating, clothes and shelter. I was born when there was no such thins as a mobile phone and I'm not that old. People lived just fine without them. People used home phones or pay phones. Cell phones are conveniences not necessities.

I rarely use my phone, my parents push it on me but I can't blame them. It's nice to have especially because there could be an emergency situation. This wasn't exactly an emergency but I once got lost a year or so ago when I was driving and I needed to call my parents and they wound up picking me up. My cousins on the other hand have their cell phone glued to their hand and even at christmas dinner they were texting at the table the whole time, I hate that. But it is very useful for some situations.

Absolutely. It's improved communication. It's just some people are annoying with their cell phones (talking at the gym, talking while driving, etc.).

I think it is as far as security is concerned, I can remember years ago when I didn't have a mobile phone and my car broke down I had to go for miles to find a phone box to ring for help so as far as safety is concerned yes they are as far as just the communicating with friends I never use it in that way.

I don't think it's necessary at all. useful, undeniably, but far from necessary. I've been known to leave mine switched off for several weeks without realising. which just goes to show how necessary it actually isn't. if it was necessary I'd have noticed it was switched off much sooner. I find it useful, and I'm glad to have it, but it's not necessary. it's a luxury and not a necessity.

Hello dear friend, I understand your concern, I think that the youngest are more easily cought by all this tech crazes, and they do not meassure the consecuences as we adults do. Yet, the movile phone is a devise that has come to make our lives more easy and confortable, it makes easier to keep in touch with our relatives and friends, increases our chances and oportunities in the bussiness world, and allows us have the world in the tip of our fingers. Yet, people should be more aware, that, as in any other thing, there are consecuenses of the abuse, and be informed, so we can make a better decision and be mmore responsible on the use of these devises.

Hi dear, We know the concept of 50:50 ratio that we applies in many cases in our life. Here also, some fundamental concepts are very important. Yes, there was a time where we cannot imaging such a facility like mobile phone. I still remember the day the real phone come in our village when I was a school boy. Our phone number was 26. I scared to speak over the phone and dial a near by home number ie 73. I dialed my friends home and when I heard his voice through the phone, I wondered. And... from there we reached here with such hifi life. All the good facilities and advanced technologies has its own draw backs also. As long as we aware of it, utilise them in its requires respects. Use only when required, avoid phones or calls which are unwanted. Consider phones as an instrument just like a spoon, that we use when required. Do't give undue importance or continuous unnecessary use with mobile phones. Its a need of the time and it saves our time and effort enormously. Consider the +points and utilise them efficiently that is what I need to say. If the user is a new unaware person about phones, we can make them understand, but how we will educate the people those who already aware of such basic things about phone. If they misuse the same, they themselves spoil them and we are helpless and it is people's responsibility to have basic knowledge and awareness about such things. Thank-s

Personally I do feel that mobile phones are a necessity today. I also feel that they way some are being used is not necessary. See with a probable emergency one need a cell phone because you simply do not know if you get stranded and or car trouble and not have means to seek for help. I certainly do not feel that small children need them especially when they get driven and or walked to school by the parents. I don't see how when they are home it is necessary for them to play with data usage on a cell phone and all the additional costs. Bless all who can afford, I just feel that some should be a bit more money conscious with todays, so rising costs.

For me, mobile is so necessary to me and i can't live without my mobile but there are pros and cons of everything, its up to us how can we use a thing, in this information period everyone know its side effects so care is within our hands.

it seems like it has become an important commodity of everyones life in this day and age i suppose. be it a 50 yr old or 15 yr old they play big role. At least this allows people to be in touch with the miles away. so i guess it is an integral part of living.

Friend, you have raised one burning topic which suffers the today's society. Yes I am using the term 'suffer' because inspite of having many utility it causes a number of hazards in our society. No I don't like to draw any core scientific reason but it also creates a sociological turmoil, that you have mentioned. Many of the accident occur in road due to absorbed attention of especially the students of our society. Those are main demerits besides a lot of merit not to mention here.

No a mobile is not necessary at. We coped without them before and can still do so. I personally hate them. A phone is no way the best means to communicate at all I think anyone here that says a mobile is necessary is either lying or brainwashed Did I mention that .... "All cell phones are evil"

I lived a while without cellphone so I know it's totally possible to not have one, the problem is really about after having it, then now we need it because we are addict or we transfer few functions to this device. Yeah now we are doomed, we really need these little fun guys.

I do believe that mobile phones are necessary today. I think that even the people who really are not that tecky will agree. There are a lot of bad things that came with the boom of mobile phones but there are also a lot of good that comes with it. It is much easier to communicate with people no matter where they live. Mobile phone are also pretty handy so you can pretty much take it anywhere. Just imagine years ago when you have to use the telephone to talk to someone or write a letter that takes weeks and even months to arrive to the recipient. There are also a lot of 'apps' in some phones that are pretty useful for our everyday life.

For me the mobile phone is very necessary because i have to be always on call for my boss. Since my boss is the Vice president of the different companies, the owner has, i must always have the mobile phone with me for her instructions on what to do for this and that whenever she go to one office to another. Secondly, i have to have a mobile phone because it's our link to our daughter who is in a faraway city studying.

I think like anything else that comes along, we tend to not be able to live without them. Any modern convenience is something we as people tend to hold onto. Cell phones became an everyday thing years ago, now it's smart phones like an iPhone that people cannot live without. I know I would be lost without mine.
