it is so sad that the rich culture they had from their ancestors were already forgotten and not followed. Dears, we cannot deny the fact that the Philippines is a mix of culture brought upon by the history itself. i think they cannot just set aside their past and they cannot go out of it. i can say truly that their culture is very rich because of the inter culture that came into. i do not want to be mean but just out from my curiosity, please give me some time to voice a little out here. does Spain did not let you know spanish? does Spanish know-how is only permitted to a selected few?

yes, and that was spain's technique to dis-unite us. i do not dislike spanish, however, if the situation asks me to study it and i found relevant, why not. thing is, our liberators gave english to us as our own and i think that is more useful than that of spanish. that is what i can say.

no.it doesn't mean that Spanish are only taught on selected people,it it just not all of the Filipinos accepted the "full" colonization brought by the Spaniards a long years ago. being patriarchal,we are just maintaining our nationalism and love to our national language and culture.you cannot just ask,"when was the last?" because we are 'still' adapting other culture for better modernization and improvement.

thanks for letting us know that we have a good and rich culture and in fact we cannot deny the truth that the philippines is a mix of culture that is being brought upon the history of this country...and yet this country has been colonized by the spaniards and have learn not only their ways of living but also their culture...and hence from that case it helps the filipino to enlighten the need to fight for the freedom during the spanish era that give way to the birth of dr jose rizal, andres bonifacio and other heroes to name the few and the only thing that led them to fight for our freedom is learning how to speak spanish and perhaps it would help to answer some of your question if you would visit the two novels of dr jose rizal the nole me tangere and el filibusterismo, the people choose to have its own language "tagalog, filipino" than to use the spanish language because it will help to developed a sort of identity and showing that the country itself together with its own people are not afraid to become different during those time just to let the whole world that we cherish the freedom that we had by having our own language
