I am surfing under Linux and I am using SeaMonkey now. Cometbird is only available for Windows users, is not open source, and for what I read based at 90% on FireFox, that I had to leave because of a memory problem -- I read that Cometbird had the same memory problem in version 3.0 -- ; it is why I chose another member of the Gecko family, needing less resources, and able to run Firefox add-ons.
