It's been almost 3 wks now that I don't have a mobile phone. I sold my unit just so I could pay for tuition. So far, I'm not really missing any calls or text messages. What I'm missing is my calendar, mp3 player, dictionary and calculator and of course WiFi. Would you survive a month without one?

Hi. msvenzon. I am sorry that you had to sell your mobile phone just so that you could pay your tuition. I have never done anything like this ever before. I hope that you are soon able enough to buy another phone when you get the money to.

I would not survive without my Iphone. It has everything, from video, music, and calling. I need it all to survive and the games also when I am bored. The iphone is great in having all these things. I use to carry around a psp in a pocket and that was annoying to have with me. The iphone has most things similar to a psp but it is small and very portable and easy to use.

I think i can survive without mobile too. I haven't tried to off my mobile for a month. The longest time that i did not use of my mobile phone is 3 days. I did not turn it off actually,i just did not use it. I did not put some loads,so even if i am receiving text messages i did not response and so with my calls. I just get bored that time and i don't know why...

You people are so spoiled! I survived my whole life without a mobile phone [ of course I had one for a long time now] any way...but yes I can survive without a mobile phone! I just sit in my backyard and send smoke signs instead! well the ancients used to do it! diden't they? ...but I HAVE A PROBLEM! now the smoke signs get confused with pollution and is sending the wrong messages!like this one [ can you survive without a mobile phone?]

Actually, I have survived and I'm not missing my phone that much. I don't have to call a lot of people anyway. But since this generation depend so much on these gadgets, we can't stop these kind of technology to boom. If I were spoiled what would you call those kids who at their primary school already owns a mobile phone? I had a mobile phone when I was in college. I guess the influence of media is very strong with the young people and feel the need to get a mobile phone even if it's not that necessary. But then again, the other responses have a point. Some people do need their mobile phone to connect to their family and friends. Mobile phones are very useful devices and when used properly, it contributes a lot to our daily living. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I could do it, in fact I have done it. Do I like to do it? No! I have an android so it has become a major source of life connection and entertainment for me. But, if I did not have it, life would not end. I would just pull out the other back up methods that I have for keeping my life in order and staying in touch with my friend.

I used to leave my phone at home almost everyday. I'm not a phone addict and I don't text. I only call my mother and other family members for emergencies. Other than that, I don't really use my cellphone. So, to answer your question, I will survive! Even if it's a year. As long as I have my laptop and I have internet connection ;-) I'm also used to writing down notes so I rarely use the notes on my phone. I've got an online calendar so my phone is really, only for calling.

It has been two years without a cell phone and it has been hard on me as well. My family lives in Nevada and I am in Idaho and in order for me to call long distance my husband and I had to purchase Magic Jack, which works great provided that we do not have Internet issues. My husband and I are looking into getting a prepaid cell phone once we get some other things paid off first. I feel the most important thing for my husband and I to have is the Internet because I use it to make money online as well as for school.

Hi! I thought this might help you if you have a computer.Download Skype, and talk to each other for free,as long as you want, and you can see each other too.Or if you do not have a camera, but you have a land line, use your Gmail phone it is free in the USA and Canada. Can I ask you how can you make money on line, since I am trying for a year and I made 0 . Good luck with staying in touch with your family.I managed to keep in touch with my daughter ,when sh was living in Europe with Skype. It was great!

We feel like that we can't survive without our cell phone or computer. But when those situation comes you will feel exhausted and also may feel like suffocated but definitely you will survive. You will miss those while with phone and computer because it has become a habit. When you will become habituate without cell phone and computer you won't miss them and won't feel like dying without them. But this things is true that they are lots of benefits to us and without them we are walking backwards. We will get slower in life but definitely will survive. We feel like this because we got these and got them as our integral part.

Yes I will. Actually my mobile phones were not been so useful to me this past months since I have no many people to contact. And even with the absence of mobile phone, we still have a landline phone at home to use in case I really need to contact someone. Computer with internet connection is more important to me now than having a mobile phone. If internet connection will be gone, that will cause more problem to me.

That is the case with me too. Since my job involves the internet, so I wouldn't be able to survive without an internet connection. As with the mobile phone, I'm not really missing any calls that much because I don't have that much people to contact. Thanks for sharing your thought!

The mobile phone has become for many of us like a part of our being and it's hard for me to imagine living without for anh entire month, but I would definitely survive. After all, there were periods when a mobile phone seemed a luxury and I lived without it or a computer, and life wasn't that vbad without them, sometimes it was better than it is now,so I'm prepared to live without any devicxe, although I don't want such a thing to happen, but even if it does, life will go on.

Well well I am ready for this challenge. I think I can win it. It is not tough for me to live without my cell phone, not only for a month, you can stretch the time string as long as possible, if there's any difficulty when am without my mobile is for my mom. She cab't contact me when I have to stay late at my office. And to some extent for my office too. To confess the truth, I will use public booth, basic phone at my home and my office phone to contact others. This discussion is about refraining mobile, not basic phones.Isn't it?

I honestly wont be able to survive a month with my mobile phone. It is a means for me to check on my son when I am not at home and at the same time if I need to contact people from the office for important matters. Also, if I go home late I need my phone to tell my loved ones where I am and what time I will be home. So basically my mobile phone plays an important role in my everyday living.

I don't think so unless there is another way I can easily interact with my family. It is quite handy and makes communication easier for us. It is good for emergencies I use it to check on my son while I work. It is quite useful when you do meet up with your friends and know there whereabouts or if they'll gonna be late. I can survive without it for a day or two but not for a month.

I probably would not like it,it makes me feel more secure when I have it,in case there is an emergency, but since I use my cell phone, only to talk, and message, and do not have that many people to do that with,I guess I could do that.Luckily I have a landline at home, and my computer. Imagine how people lived before technology shrunk the world!!!Now that I would find hard!
