I will be the first to admit that I got suckered right into 16 and pregnant and teen mom. Being a young mother myself is one the reasons why I first found the show appealing. I thought that the show would portray how difficult it is for young mothers to have children, and that it would discourage teens from getting pregnant, but has the series continues I begin to ask myself whether this show is actually discouraging teens from getting pregnant. Meanwhile you do see some of those struggling to support there children, while others are taken care of hand and foot by there parents. It is pretty much that there parents support all aspects of their lives and have their children on a constant bases. MTV has posted on their website about casting calls for those who are currently pregnant so they can cast them in there new season of 16 and pregnant. So how many girls out there are getting pregnant so that they can be on these shows? Should MTV continue to cast those who have gotten in recent trouble with drugs, domestic violence, battery, and theft? It seriously makes me wonder whether this show is helping to show how difficult it is to be a young mother and that a baby is not an accessory or a way to gain fame. What are your thoughts on the show?

i believe this show is making being a teen mother look to easy and i will explain which each girl how from season one lets start with farrah she has had her ups and downs but i mena her mom gave her a house that she has to pay very little rent for. maci just gets to up and change her life liike she does not have a child. catelynn gets to go on with her life like nothing happened to her. and amber gets to go out with friends while her baby daddy stays at home. gor one i work very hard for my apartment and if i dont pay rent im out on the streets. as for my life i have to stay consitant woth my life style for my two boys and i cant say how hard it or easy it would be to adopt but i dont think she should be that over it. as for amber if we were in real life and someone was beating their signifficant other then CPS would be called. as for season two these girls are even more crazy and un real like the first one. lets start with jenelle she is an imature teen who has to not care for her responsiblilty one bit. she should have to havr to do something i believe if she does not want to make something of her life her mother should get full custody and she should have to pay child support. and i believe mothers (grandmothers) should not have to take care of thier daughter descions. as for kailyn i believe that she and jo should work it out i mean think about it his parents did so much for her and she just said i dont care not right. chelsea she has ne responsibilty but to care for aubree she does not have to pay rent or anything luck0y lucky her. and breaking news i jsut read about leah in people stating she was still in love with her ex and cheated on cory the noght b4 her wedding and the only reason she married him was because of mtv made her when it reality he is very mean to her. i believe mtv made it look to easy yeah u may lose ur education and friends but it is harder then it looks and people have help but guess what some dont some dont even have thier parents if they want truth they need to make truth instead of fakeness.

When I was a teenager I didn't have any idea what life was like for a teenage mom. I liked my studies and got into my hobby of traveling overseas. I did have a desire to work as a children's nanny which I did when I was 18 years old. Nowadays in my home country there is a program about teen moms. I think these programs educate all people about what it would be like to be a teenage mom. I don't think they encourage teens to go and get pregnant at 16 years old. I think that the program might prevent the young people from getting pregnant and it might make the teens more careful with their birth control. I like to watch programs about life experiences even though they don't apply to me. Being a parent is a demanding job for 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. A young person that likes to party doesn't have a baby as an accessory. It must be quite a hard life to be a teenage parent.

I don't think the show is discouraging or encouraging. It is simply showing life as a teen mother, and weather it encourages or discourages a person is up to that person watching it. Some aspects of the show definitely glamorize teen pregnancy and other aspects make you stop and think that you do not want that to be you. So I guess it depends on your own point of view and opinions as to how it influences you.

I don't this prograam does anything to preevent por discourage prgenancy among teens. They glamorize it so much teens will accept this as being the way of life.
