I give a name to my laptop

My father gave me my Toshiba Satellite series last February 2010 and I'm so excited and very happy on that time. I always clean it and make sure that it is always like new.
This March 2011, I decided to give it a name, I'm always in front of my laptop everyday to play a game, browse the net, chit-chat with my peers, and to earn. And because I always use my laptop in my everyday life, I called it now "Uriel".
Why Uriel? Because I learn many things everyday from my Uriel. =D
Mylotter's, did you give any name to your stuffs?
What name do you want to give from it? Why?

I can't say that I have ever named any of my personal possessions, but my Honey bought me a new Toshiba Qosmio Notebook in August 2010. I'm like you; always polishing it and making sure there is no dust on it. It's a beautiful shade of red, so maybe I should call it Big Red or something like that.
If anyone can tell me how I can upload the photos into the discussion, I can show you what my notebook looks like.
I'm just curious. I don't understand your explanation for why you named yours Uriel. Does Uriel mean learning?

Thank you for your explanation axlrate. I have read the Bible, but I didn't remember that story.
I don't seem to have the add image button you were talking about. Some other discussions have indicate that you need more than 500 discussion posts. I see that you only have 43, so I guess not. In any case, I don't have the link for adding photos.

I used to name my toys when I was little. I had this big soft toy which kinda looked like snoopy, so I called him Snoopy =D That's all I can remember.
Naming your laptop is kinda fresh LOL

It's nice that you have a new laptop and yes it's nice to give names to things that you cherish and treasure. I do the same! As crazy or ludicrous as this sounds I treat my possessions as though they are family members and I talk to them, give them thanks for working so well, in relation to computers and gadgets I might add! The good thing is there are no rules about this sort of thing so you make your own rules and you can be as creative as you like.
I love my desktop pc and it's a dell model and it's quite new as well! I treat it right and I make sure that I give it a regular clean, inside as well as the software on the system and it runs so smoothly and is quite fast as well. My pc has to be my most treasured possession! Andrew

I love creative people. What other ways are you creative? For me I like to do decorative painting and other crafts, sewing, quilting, knitting, crochet etc. I'm also planning to take a cabinetmaking / furniture technician course. I'd like to take those credentials and start a little cottage business making small furniture pieces.

Cool, We act this way when we receive new items that we want specially gadgets which is the new trend for this present generation. Though after a few years we often loose interest to that specific item and tends to give lesser care from where it was brand new or new for you.

It's sound funny and interesting, i like the way you appreciate thing that you father has given to you. But for myself it's just not me, i will give name to my pet, but not for concrete things.
