Yesterday, a colleague of mine puts her phone on the seat to charge battery.
But 15 minutes later, the device exploded. Fortunately, she did not stand so close that she was not injured. But the chair was broken with a big hole.
Scary!
People should not talk on the phone in a long time. When charging, do not close the phone.

I can certainly believe this because I have noticed that while my black berry phone while charging and using it, it gets really hot. So hot that it is uncomfortable to hold.
Lesson learned friend I will not do so again. Thanks for the share.

My phone is too. It will be hot if I talk on it about 10-15 minutes or while I charge battery. So, I feel fear after my colleague's story.

We need reminders, my friend. Because we people is easy to forget sometimes.
I don't know why china, did not set a European standard to manufacture their products. Because it will reflect with their own country. That their brand of products is dangerous to others...

whoa...thats really scary..I used to talk for a long time in my phone.I also used to talk while charging it also.Thank GOD I havent expereinced such incident.I dont want my ears to dissappear all of a sudden.I once noticed my cell phone battery swollen.I replaced it immediately. For a swollen battery itself,my vendor was saying-it is a duplicate battery.Guess the exploded one must also be a duplicate like a chinese make.

I don't know what brand of my colleague's phone. However, I think because it's quite old.
After this accident, I never talk on phone while it's charged or talking on it long time.

I guess we all have to be more careful when charging our phones. When I'm charging my cell phone, I always check to see if the battery is full already or not so I can turn off the charger immediately. Maybe overcharging the battery can cause this type of explosion.

You do well. It's very dangerous if we don't check our phone while it's charged. We should do that to avoid dangerous things which shouldn't have.

Wow, that is really scary, I must say. I have heard of batteries exploding, but have never heard of it happening the way that one did. I have never had that problem, and I hope I never do. I do have it on while charging, as it usually being charged during the day, and that is when I will get calls on it, so I do have to have it on. Now, it it needs charging while I am sleeping, I will turn the phone off while charging, and once charged, I will remove it from the charger. I don't see how the battery can get overcharged, but I suppose it is possible. My daughter will leave hers on the charger all day, and I have told her not to do that, as she never lets it run completely down before charging it, and we should always make sure we wait until it is completely drained before charging it. Take care, and have a very good day.

Wow, I never experienced this yet but hopefully never will I be experiencing this. It's really scary. Luckily no one got hurt and sadly you colleague have to buy a new phone. I do use my phone when charging it mostly texting and sometimes calling. I noticed as well that it really gets hot so I sometimes put my phone down and let it finish charging before using it again. After hearing this, I might not be using my phone ever while charging it.

Oh my goodness. It was a good thing that she was not seated next to the phone and nobody got injured with that. I think the cellphone battery is defective that's why it exploded. She must call the cellphone company and complain about this. I remember long time ago that one of the cellphone companies had this exploding battery and they had to recall those cellphones and change their batteries.

She bought her phone about 18 months. I don't think that the company will have guarantee for it. She bought new one after that and warning all people around her.

I heard a lot of stories about their mobile phones blew up while charging and I think these stories are true. For the fact that there are a lot of imitations today like china phones and the like. Make sure that the brand you buy can really be trusted and has passed the safety standards of your country.

This discussion is 3 years ago but I still want to respond it. I still never see and have this experience but I know there some cases like this happen. It very dangerous when phone battery explode. Some phone brand especially from China it is not safe to use. Better buy a brand which is we can trust.
